Kyle Logan, whose true name is Ren, is the young son of Higan and Mari, former ninjas who abandoned their clan and assumed the false identities of Joe and Sara Logan to live in hiding in rural America. He appears in the first episode as a cheerful child celebrating his birthday with his parents, completely unaware of their dangerous past. His life is abruptly ended that same night when clan assassins raid the family home, killing both him and his mother. Kyle has no combat skills, ninja training, or special abilities; he is portrayed as an ordinary, innocent boy. His role in the story is purely that of a narrative catalyst, as his death directly fuels Higan’s mission of revenge. His only meaningful relationships are with his parents, and because he dies so early in the series, he undergoes no personal development or further exploration.
