Princess Starlia, formally known as Starlia Lese, is the second princess of the Kingdom of Lese and the commander of the Argentum Corps, the kingdom's elite military unit created to fight dragons. She is a sixteen-year-old noblewoman who carries several titles across the world. Within her own country she is called the Silverware Princess, a name that comes from her childhood habit of first learning to manipulate silver tableware, while abroad she is known as the Silver Aura Princess and, in regions influenced by the Sun God religion, the Silver Radiance Princess.
Starlia was born without arms, a condition that led to her being treated as an aberration even within the royal family, and during her earliest years she was wild and difficult. A turning point came when Nasarena Terjian was assigned as her tutor. Starlia repeatedly tried to kill her teacher and was defeated each time, and through those constant clashes she gradually gained both a proper education and formidable combat skill. By the age of five she was finally acknowledged as a member of the royal family, and her childhood became a series of extraordinary accomplishments. She slew three low-class dragons at six, won a tournament while hiding her identity at seven, defeated a dragon pack including mid-class dragons at eight, and began crafting weapons at nine. In her teens she gained renown as a master artisan, particularly for the high-quality silver weapons she produces for her soldiers. Her abilities and charisma have led others to compare her to a legendary princess of the past.
In personality, Starlia is a cold-hearted realist who makes decisions based on intuition while still appreciating rationality. She can also display eccentric behavior, such as grilling and eating dragon meat without hesitation. As a member of royalty, she possesses the charisma of a natural-born leader, glowing with determination and confidence, and she is able to unite under her banner a wide assortment of gifted and even dangerous individuals who remain fiercely loyal to her. From that meeting onward she becomes a key ally in the fight against the Winged Bloodline, the dragon faction that threatens her kingdom.
Her key relationships define much of her role. With Ragna, she shares a mutual respect that grows into love, and she supports him as both a commander and a warrior. Toward Crimson she feels deep disgust and wariness, viewing him as an irredeemably dark and perverse figure, and their interactions are marked by open hostility. With Nasarena she shares a bond that began in conflict but developed into devoted loyalty, with Nasarena serving as her closest attendant. With the members of the Argentum Corps she is a beloved and respected leader who equips them with weapons she forged herself and empowers them in battle. On the enemy side, she is confronted by the powerful dragon Woltekamui and later by the poison-wielding Olto Zora, both of whom become central figures in her personal ordeal.
