Description
Future Ragna, also called Ragna del futuro, is the aged future version of the protagonist Ragna in the series Ragna Crimson. He appears as an old man with long silver hair that covers most of his face, a body covered in scars accumulated over decades of battle, and a long tattered cape around his neck, likely taken from one of the many comrades he lost.

His background mirrors that of the younger Ragna, except for one crucial difference: in his timeline he failed to save Leonica and the other residents during the dragon attack on Ronabera, becoming one of the few, if not the only, survivors of the fall of Ronabera and the Kingdom of Lese. After losing Leonica, he moved from battlefield to battlefield seeking revenge against the entire dragon race, though beneath this pursuit of vengeance he may have actually been looking for a place to die. He always survived, however. A turning point came when he was cornered by the Winged Bloodline in an unwinnable battle and the dragons tried to transform him into one of their own. Rather than accept that fate, he found his sword and took his own life. His body was later discovered by Crimson, who revived him. Over the following years, Ragna spent a long period fused with his sword, developing the ability to generate silver from his own body. He eventually met Future Ruoxi, a survivor of the fall of the Solarian Church, who became his master and taught him about aura, helping him create the Silver Battle Arts. He then spent years moving from battlefield to battlefield, perfecting these arts while losing every new companion he made, which earned him the title of Reaper. Years later, Crimson contacted him and the two formed an alliance. Together, they managed to hunt down the Winged Bloodline, but they ultimately failed to wipe out dragon-kind. As a last resort, they sent Ragna's memories and powers back into the past, which cost Future Ragna his life. In his final moments, he saw that his past self had managed to save Leonica, and he died with a smile, an expression he had not worn in decades.

In terms of personality, Future Ragna became hateful and grumpy after losing everything he cared about and growing old. This harsh exterior was only a facade, however, because he cared deeply for others. His entire life was devoted to eradicating dragons, and his hatred of the Solarian Church came not from the dragons but from the fact that the church collapsed due to internal conflict. For someone who had dedicated everything to the fight against dragons, watching such a powerful military force destroy itself was a profound disappointment and source of anger.

His motivations are rooted in loss. Revenge against the dragon race drives him for most of his life, but his constant survival in hopeless battles hints that he was also seeking an honorable end. Ultimately, his deepest wish becomes to change the past so that his younger self can succeed where he failed, protecting the people he could not save.

In the story, Future Ragna serves as the catalyst for everything that follows. Before his death, he transmits his memories, battle experience, and powers to his younger self, giving the young Ragna the strength and knowledge needed to fight the dragons and alter fate. His role is therefore to set the protagonist on the path toward the destruction of the dragon race.

His key relationships define his tragedy. Leonica is the person he cared for most, and her death in his timeline is the wound that shapes his entire life. Crimson is his ally in the future, and the two form a pact to eliminate all dragons, though their bond lacks the closeness that develops between the younger Ragna and Crimson. Future Ruoxi is his master, who trains him in aura and helps give birth to the Silver Battle Arts. His relationship with his younger self is also central, as he entrusts his memories and power to the past in the hope of rewriting history.

In terms of abilities, Future Ragna possesses the same skills as the younger Ragna and is arguably even stronger. He is the creator and master of the Silver Battle Arts, an ultimate anti-dragon fighting style that combines hand-to-hand combat, sword techniques, and throwing attacks, born from his unique silver manipulation and decades of experience. Because of his long fusion with his sword, he can produce and freely control silver from his body, and he radiates silver aura naturally. Since silver is anti-magic, his body is partially resistant to magic and his power can freeze and nullify magical effects. His notable techniques include Dragon Hunting Flash, a cleaving strike that fuses silver aura with human aura and releases it at a critical moment; Dragon Hunting Flash Drill, which turns that strike into a beam-like attack; Dragon Hunting Heavy Flash, a double fusion attack powerful enough to damage even Glestnowak; Silver Sphere, an explosive orb of silver that can kill a superior dragon; Full Release, which produces an immense amount of silver to freeze magic-based things across a vast area; and Silver Rush, a straightforward charge enveloped in silver. His ultimate technique is the Anti-Monarch Twin Hunting Flash, which compresses the purest qualities of silver into a two-part attack that moves at light speed in an X formation and is capable of killing any dragon, though using it leaves him unconscious. He also possesses deep knowledge of dragons and their weaknesses, as well as mastery over aura honed over more than half his lifetime.
