Landan is a male demon who serves as the chief of the Four Heavenly Kings and the domestic administration officer of the Garugardo Demon Kingdom. He originally came from a commoner background, which is why he lacks a family name. He is widely credited with keeping the kingdom’s internal affairs running smoothly through his capable administrative skills. In addition to his role in the demon government, he also holds the position of mayor of the town of Shazaad. Physically, he has short, dark brown hair that sticks up, a scruffy beard, and ochre eyes. Personality-wise, he is cautious, level-headed, and pragmatic, but he is also prone to panic and fear when faced with situations that seem overwhelming. He has a strong instinct to avoid danger and has repeatedly attempted to resign from his post as a Heavenly King, only to be talked out of it by his colleague Beezel, the foreign minister. His fear of the Great Tree Village grew after learning about the immense power of its residents, including the presence of Demon Spiders and their highest-ranked species. Despite his reluctance, he eventually visits the village in the summer of the ninth year to attend a sliding board festival. His relationship with Beezel is marked by mutual teasing; after canceling a joint visit, Beezel pretended not to remember him. Over time, Landan’s interactions with the village and its leader, Hiraku, begin to shape his cautious outlook, though he remains a deeply careful and administratively focused figure.
