TV-Series
Description
Ku Xuan is the in-story counterpart of the real-world author Kuxuan, who created the original web novel that inspired the donghua. Within the adaptation, he appears as a student at Sixty Middle School, the same institution attended by the protagonist Wang Ling. His character design closely mirrors the author’s own appearance, functioning as a self-insert figure who exists inside the fictional world he wrote. Ku Xuan possesses the ability of plot manipulation, enabling him to warp any piece of media or narrative according to his will. This grants him a meta-authority over events, placing him effectively in the role of an observer who can alter the story from within. His personality is hinted at through consistent behavior: he is always the first to participate whenever a spiritual power test is held at the school, suggesting a forthright or confident disposition. His primary motivation seems to be witnessing the daily life of the characters firsthand while occasionally using his power to influence situations. Key relationships with the main cast are not extensively developed, but as a background presence he embodies the author’s quiet connection to the tale. Little overt character development is shown, as his role remains that of a subtle, almost fourth-wall-aware figure whose existence reinforces the series’ playful, self-referential tone.
