Description
Phaser Ryugu is a character in the anime Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!! and serves as the primary antagonist of the fifth arc of the series. He is the founder and commander of the organization known as The Secrecy, also called MIK, which stands for the Organization for Monitoring Interstellar Kriminals. During the second season, he leads a sweeping crackdown on aliens and their allies in Mutsuba Town, establishing himself as the dominant authority in the area.
The Ryugu family are the legitimate heirs of the land on which Mutsuba Town would eventually be built, and long before the town existed they inherited the secret that aliens would continue to visit their territory. Phaser is the older brother of Tremolo Ryugu, and he is a sixth-grade student at a space elementary school. His background as an heir to this legacy informs his strong sense of responsibility for protecting Earth.
Phaser is a calm, disciplined, and authoritative figure who acts with complete conviction. His motivations stem from the incident involving the King of Terror, after which he came to view aliens as foreign elements that threaten Earth. During the two-year period before Yudias Velgear returns to Earth, he changes MIK's policy to the complete exclusion of troublesome aliens and issues Operation M.I.K., an operation to remove them entirely. Under his command, Mutsuba Town falls completely under MIK's control, all aliens are forced into the underground residential area, and organizations such as UTS, Mutsuba Heavy Industries, and Goha-do are seized. To the general human public, he is seen as the head of an organization that has restored peace and order to Mutsuba Town.
