Description
Haqua du Lot Herminium is a district chief for the Runaway Spirit Squad, overseeing Area 32 in Nagumo City. Academically brilliant, she graduated as valedictorian and earned the prestigious Scythe of Testament, an honor typically bestowed upon noble devils. However, her initial field performance capturing spirits fails to meet expectations. Her personality blends sharp intelligence and diligence with intense pride and self-criticism, driving her to hide failures like fabricating capture reports to protect her reputation. Despite this, she displays fierce loyalty to close companions such as Elsie, even while initially resisting their friendship. A profound inferiority complex plagues her, particularly concerning Elsie's surprising success, which once left her vulnerable to possession by a loose soul.

She stands 162 cm tall, distinguished by her waist-length blue-violet hair. Her standard attire consists of a reddish-brown dress with a thistle-colored miniskirt, matching stockings, high heels, and a choker necklace. Her signature weapon, the Scythe of Testament, wields azure flames capable of melting objects like Vintage communicators. After dismissal from the Squad, her clothing darkens, adding a cloak and thigh-length heels; she later reverts to her original outfit upon reinstatement. Her abilities encompass flight, object transformation, and creating dolls using her hagoromo. She uniquely possesses the skill to replay past events within a limited timeframe for intelligence gathering. Even without her hagoromo, she achieves flight by casting multiple spells simultaneously. In combat, she integrates scythe techniques and spells, projecting flames at mid-range. Domestically, she cooks competently by human standards but acknowledges Elsie's superior hellish cuisine.

Her history began with rigorous academic dedication in New Hell, fostering a sense of superiority that shattered when her post-graduation performance lagged. An early mission failure to capture a loose soul led to a lie about her record and culminated in her possession. Elsie freed her by confronting her emotional insecurities, forging a stronger bond. Later, she exposed Vintage’s infiltration during a meeting, resulting in her arrest and dismissal. With Nora's aid, she escaped and assisted Keima Katsuragi against Vintage. Her contributions to Vintage's defeat secured her reinstatement as district chief. In subsequent arcs, she collaborated with human partners like Yukie Marui, facing initial friction over differing methods. She also developed unreciprocated romantic feelings for Keima, challenging him to a video game match to gather intelligence. During the Goddesses arc, she encountered Diana and agreed to keep goddess-related secrets confidential after clashing with Nora. Her character evolves from reluctance to accept help toward greater teamwork and humility, especially after her reinstatement.
