Description
Jun Marchs Asari, also known as Jun Asari-Marchs, is a supporting character in the story. He is a 15-year-old male player who stands 174 centimeters tall and has an O blood type, with his birthday falling on February 14th. He is recognized as a cool, blond, and handsome boy of mixed heritage, with an English father and a Japanese mother.

Asari is a product of the Esperion Junior Youth team, having been promoted to the youth setup from within the club's system. He plays as a side back, a position in which he is notably strong in attacking situations, with a particular proficiency for overlapping runs down the flank.

In terms of personality, Asari possesses a high level of pride and confidence in his own abilities. This pride leads him to be initially dismissive of Ashito Aoi, the protagonist who joins the youth team from a less prestigious background. Asari is not satisfied that someone with what he perceives as inferior skills has been accepted into the same team, and this often results in him talking down to Ashito. His voice actor has described Asari as someone who competes with Ashito over their differing outlooks on the sport, acting as a figure who stirs drama between the established promotion group and newer selections. Despite his flashy appearance, he takes his game very seriously and is portrayed as being rather stoic.

Asari's role in the story is deeply intertwined with his relationship with Ashito and other first-year players. The development between Asari and Ashito is considered important for the narrative arc. Early on, during matches with the B-team, Asari and another player, Kuroda, initially struggle to synchronize their play with Ashito. However, they eventually learn to understand each other on the pitch, forming an effective triangular passing combination that leads to a comeback victory, during which Asari scores a goal. His effective play with this triangle continues into subsequent matches, where he scores another goal, contributing to his promotion to the A-team alongside Kuroda.

Despite this promotion, Asari finds it difficult to secure a permanent place in the A-team and is later relegated back to the B-team for certain matches. He continues to put in strong performances for the B-team and, due to a shortage of defenders in the A-team caused by player call-ups to the Japan U-18 squad, Asari is once again called up to play as a starter in important matches. He later gains significant playing time during cup matches and enters as a substitute in a key match against Aomori Seiran, performing well. His progress sees him eventually become a starter for the team in a first league final and also for an international match against FC Barcelona during the Al Kass Cup.

Asari's most notable ability on the field is his skill as a side back who is equally capable in both defensive and offensive duties, with a specific talent for overlapping. He works effectively in a triangular attacking pattern with Ashito and his teammate Kuroda. Off the field, he is characterized by his pride, his initial disdain for Ashito's raw talent, and his development as a player who learns to connect with his teammates.
