Description
Irisphilia is a student at the Royal Granfelt Specialized Academy of Magic, recognizable by her long silver hair often tied in a ponytail and her red eyes. She has a slim figure and is known for her beautiful and well-endowed appearance. Her true identity is that of Giselotte Orteus, a powerful Demon Queen who reincarnated into a human form, carrying over the memories and name from her previous life. In her past existence, her dream was to create a peaceful paradise for demons and magical creatures.

Born with the consciousness and memories of her past life, Irisphilia was able to speak and displayed a desire for power from infancy. This led her biological parents and subsequent adoptive families to shun and abandon her, believing her to be a demon or a devil's child. She was eventually taken in by a monastery, where a kind priest became her guardian until his death when she was five years old. Despite these traumatic experiences of rejection, she resolved to enroll in the Royal Academy, hoping to overcome the barriers that limit her magical growth.

Irisphilia's personality is characterized by cordiality and a pragmatic yet naive approach to social situations. Having been isolated from normal society since childhood, she is often insensitive to social norms and struggles to read the atmosphere or understand the expectations of others. She tends to act according to her own moral compass, which is heavily influenced by her former life as a demon queen. Despite her hardships, she is willing to help others and can be trusting to a fault, sometimes acting naively if it means assisting someone in need. She has a high perception of her surroundings and is quick to notice details others might miss, such as magical barriers or the difference between Haruto and his clone.

Her primary motivation for attending the academy is to find a way to break the stagnation of her practical magic skills. While she has an exceptional theoretical knowledge, demonstrated by ranking first in the school's written exams, her practical abilities are severely stunted, with her maximum magic level rated at 35 but her practical application stuck at 5. She hopes that by studying ancient magic under Professor Tearietta Luseiannel, she can unlock the barrier hindering her magical growth.

In the story, she becomes the first friend of the protagonist, Haruto Zenfis. Their relationship begins after Haruto, under the guise of the powerful being Shiva, rescues her from an attack by a monster on the road to the capital. She later recognizes Haruto as Shiva, though he initially denies it. After a series of incidents at the academy, where she is targeted by the noble student Schneidel Halfen and forced into a humiliating situation, Shiva saves her and urges her to value herself more. Following this, she shares her tragic backstory with Haruto and asks to be his friend, a request he accepts. She is often seen in Haruto's company alongside his sister, Charlotte Zenfis, and has a habit of shortening names, such as calling him "Haru". While she develops strong feelings for Haruto, these feelings are not reciprocated by him.

Irisphilia's development is closely tied to her interactions with Haruto. Initially, her mana level was at a mere 5, but after Haruto untangled her magical threads, her mana capacity increased to level 23. Her true identity as the reincarnated demon queen is a secret known to the audience, but within the story, most characters, including Haruto, do not realize who she really is, treating her simply as a fellow student. Only a few, like the demon Flay, harbor suspicions about her past. Notable abilities include her sharp perception and her capacity for theoretical magic, despite her initial practical weaknesses.
