Description
Akira Kuno is the real name of the individual known to the public as Anno Un, the reclusive author of the best-selling manga series To You, From Me. As a child, Akira lived alone with his mother, to whom he was very close, after his father passed away from illness. Their bond was strengthened by a nightly ritual of his mother reading manga to him, which inspired Akira to begin creating his own stories. This desire to bring a smile to his mother's face would ultimately define his life's path.

His life changed forever when he discovered the G-Liner, a powerful artifact in the form of a pen. Upon touching it, he was granted omniscient knowledge of the past and future of the current loop. However, this gift came with an immense and cruel price. To prevent the G-Liner's secrets from being shared, the god Sun forced upon Akira the role of a Negator, specifically a self-targeting, compulsory-activation type with the ability known as Unknown. This power makes his speech, actions, and very existence completely undetectable by other living beings, rendering him invisible, inaudible, and intangible to the world around him.

The tragic nature of his ability was made clear the moment he tried to share his visions with his mother. He found that she could no longer see, hear, or touch him, and was forced to watch helplessly as she desperately searched for him, consumed by grief. Unable to interact with anyone, Akira eventually left home to live on the streets, continuing to draw and hoping to somehow fulfill his mother's wish for him to keep creating. Akira learned that if he wrote under the pseudonym Anno Un, his works would not be negated by his ability. He submitted a one-shot manga to a contest, which won, and he realized that through his pen name, his creations could be seen and recognized by the public. He used the G-Liner's power to bring his drawings to life, creating the physical form of "Anno Un" as a proxy to interact with the world. By the time he created this proxy to finally reunite with his mother, he discovered she had already passed away.

In the main story, the Union seeks out Akira's original manuscript, believing it holds the key to future events. The character Anno Un is creative, relaxed, and highly spontaneous, able to make quick decisions under pressure. He demonstrates a calm and fearless demeanor, even when performing drastic acts like severing his own limbs to create a powerful weapon against the UMA Autumn. His deep-seated motivation is to change the grim future he has foreseen, particularly the death of Fuuko, which would lead to a catastrophic chain of events. He reveals that he specifically wrote his manga to provide the heroes with the necessary clues and training to overcome their fate, naming Andy and Fuuko as his favorite characters. Akira forms a crucial, if indirect, relationship with Andy and Fuuko, acting as a mentor and supporter from the shadows. He uses his mansion in Canada as a base to train them, utilizing the Soul Caliber artifact to remove Fuuko's soul and insert it into a book made from Andy to help them better understand their abilities.

Throughout the Autumn arc, Akira's role shifts from a mysterious benefactor to a direct participant. He fights alongside the Union and Under members to defeat the powerful Autumn, despite losing both of his physical arms in the process. His most significant act of sacrifice comes at the climax of the battle, where he uses the G-Liner to create a fake Time Control artifact to restore Rip's age, which had been reversed by Autumn. This act ages Akira dramatically, turning him into an elderly man, and destroys the G-Liner, which also causes his Anno Un proxy to disappear. With the pen destroyed and his manga finished, he loses his only way to be perceived by the world, returning to a state of being completely unknown. However, he is last seen by Andy, who gives him a silent fist bump in thanks for all his help.

In the subsequent Ragnarok arc, it is revealed that the elderly Akira has been present by Fuuko's side the entire time, though unseen, and he narrates the final tragic moments of the 100th loop before dying alongside the other Negators. His story takes a hopeful turn in the 101st loop. Fuuko, armed with knowledge from the previous loop, finds young Akira just before he can touch the G-Liner and stops him, thereby preventing him from ever becoming a Negator. She explains everything that happened, and an inspired Akira decides to cheer the Union on by drawing a manga based on their adventures. He is then safely transported back to his home, where he can finally live a peaceful life with his mother.
