Description
Agnes Mille Morteln is the mother of the protagonist, Pastry Mille Morteln, and the wife of the minor lord Casserole Mille Morteln. She is a beautiful and friendly woman who typically presents herself with the elegant demeanor expected of an aristocrat. Despite her refined appearance, Agnes possesses a playful and occasionally silly side, most notably demonstrated by her habit of dressing her son, Pastry, in strange or embarrassing outfits. Her affection for her family is her most defining characteristic, and she shows great warmth and care in her role as a mother and wife. While not a primary driver of the political or economic reforms that Pastry initiates, Agnes plays a key supporting role within the Morteln household, providing a nurturing environment for her son as he pursues his ambitions to create sweets in a world where sugar is a rare luxury. Her relationship with her son is central to her character, defined by her open affection and her tendency to dote on him, even if it leads to some comedic moments at his expense. She does not exhibit any notable magical or combat abilities, and her development throughout the story is tied to her steadfast support of her family rather than a personal transformative arc.
