Description
Lee Joo-Hee is a Korean B-Rank hunter who specializes in healing magic and has been a supporter of Sung Jin-Woo since his early days as an E-Rank hunter. She is one of the six survivors of the first Double Dungeon incident, an event that deeply traumatizes her and shapes much of her story.
Her personality is defined by kindness, compassion, and a naturally timid nature. She is soft-spoken and tends to be shy around unfamiliar people, but she shows genuine warmth and loyalty toward those she trusts. Joo-Hee is genuinely fearful of the dangers of hunting and prefers to take on low-risk raids, despite possessing the skill to handle higher-ranked dungeons. Her low self-confidence often holds her back from pushing her limits, and she is deeply affected by the psychological scars left by the Double Dungeon.
Joo-Hee's primary motivation is to help others and keep her teammates safe. She is driven by a desire to prevent loss of life, and this protective instinct is especially strong when it comes to Sung Jin-Woo. She repeatedly accompanies him on raids during his weak E-Rank period, healing his injuries and even scolding him for how often he gets hurt. Her concern for his well-being is genuine and personal, rooted in their long friendship.
Her role in the story is most prominent in the early arcs, where she serves as both a healer and an emotional anchor for Jin-Woo’s ordinary past. During the Dungeon and Prisoners arc, she participates in a C-Rank raid alongside Jin-Woo and is nearly killed by the corrupt inspector Kang Taeshik. Jin-Woo saves her, and she provides a crucial haste buff that helps him defeat Taeshik. This encounter reinforces her trauma, and soon after she retires from hunting altogether, unable to cope with the constant fear. She later returns briefly during the Jeju Island crisis, volunteering alongside Song Chi-Yul to defend Busan from the ant swarm, though the threat is quickly neutralized by Beru. After the timeline is reset using the Cup of Reincarnation, she loses all memories of her past as a hunter and lives a peaceful civilian life.
Key relationships include her long friendship with Sung Jin-Woo, whom she knew before his rise in power and who she continues to worry about even after retirement. She also shares a bond with Song Chi-Yul, another survivor of the Double Dungeon, who supports her during the Busan defense. Her relationship with Jin-Woo is one of mutual care and nostalgia; she represents the human side of his life before he became overwhelmingly powerful.
Joo-Hee's abilities are focused entirely on support and healing. She can heal wounds and restore vitality, and she is proficient in buffing magic, such as casting haste to increase an ally's speed and reaction time. She also has access to burn boosters and stat enhancements. Despite being a B-Rank healer, her magical potential is high, but her mental fragility prevents her from using it effectively in high-stress environments. She never develops combat-oriented powers, remaining a pure support character throughout her hunting career. Her development is largely internal: she starts as an active, caring healer, becomes a traumatized retiree, and ultimately finds peace in an ordinary life free from the dangers of dungeons.
