Description
Kang Tae-shik is a B-Rank Hunter who works as an inspector for the Korean Hunters Association's Surveillance Team. He is a slender man appearing to be in his mid to late twenties, characterized by his spiky purple hair and matching purple eyes that often hold a sadistic expression. His typical attire as an Association employee is a formal black suit and tie, complete with a belt that holds his daggers and knives.

In terms of personality, Kang Tae-shik is a deeply psychopathic individual driven by a profound and sadistic bloodlust. He finds the act of murdering other humans more thrilling and enjoyable than fighting the magic beasts found within dungeons. Despite working as a professional hitman, he holds other criminals in contempt, using them as targets to satisfy his violent urges. He possesses a strong sense of pride regarding his status as a high-level Hunter and adheres to a supremacist ideology, believing that Hunters, being superior to ordinary humans, are not bound by conventional laws. His behavior is noted to be erratic and nearly impossible to predict, even for a skilled colleague like Woo Jinchul. However, despite his enormous ego and cruelty, he respects the natural order of strength, demonstrated when he accepts his defeat without malice after being bested in combat.

His primary motivation is his insatiable thirst for blood. He uses his position within the Hunters Association as a cover to operate as a hitman, which allows him to indulge his homicidal desires while also earning money. His actions during the story show he is willing to betray his professional duties to pursue his personal, violent goals.

Within the story, Kang Tae-shik's role is that of a significant antagonist. He is introduced as a supervisor assigned to oversee a party of convict hunters participating in a dungeon raid to reduce their sentences. This mission, a C-Rank dungeon raid, is led by the experienced hunter Song Chi-Yul and also includes the healer Lee Joohee and the protagonist Sung Jin-Woo. Despite appearing friendly and professional initially, he reveals his true intentions during the raid: to secretly assassinate all the prisoner hunters in his charge, having been hired for this task by an unknown third party with a grudge against them. This leads to a direct and violent confrontation with Sung Jin-Woo.

Key relationships include his professional connection to Woo Jinchul, his superior in the Surveillance Team. While Woo Jinchul is a capable and meticulous agent, even he finds Kang Tae-shik's erratic nature difficult to anticipate. Kang's primary relationship in the narrative is adversarial with Sung Jin-Woo. After killing several of the prisoner hunters and the panicked Kim Sang-shik, he targets Sung Jin-Woo and Song Chi-Yul. He easily defeats the aged Song Chi-Yul but is ultimately overpowered and killed by Sung Jin-Woo in a fierce battle, accepting his fate as the natural outcome of their clash.

As for development, Kang Tae-shik does not undergo a redemption arc or significant personal change. His character serves to highlight the corrupt and ruthless elements that can exist within the Hunter community. His development is linear, moving from a hidden threat to an overt antagonist, culminating in his death at the protagonist's hands.

Regarding his notable abilities, Kang Tae-shik is an Assassin-type Hunter, a class that grants him incredible speed and agility. He is proficient in using daggers and knives. His speed is formidable enough to overwhelm Song Chi-Yul, even when Chi-Yul had received a strength enhancement from a healer. His most distinctive skill is Stealth, which allows him to camouflage himself with his surroundings by concealing all his physical and magical traces, effectively turning invisible. This ability makes him a highly dangerous and unpredictable opponent.
