Description
Lee Ju-Hee is a Korean B-Rank hunter who specializes in healing magic. She is introduced as one of Sung Jinwoo’s closest friends from his early days as an E-Rank hunter, frequently accompanying him on raids to provide medical support. Her background as a healer places her in a support role, and she is known for her kind and soft-spoken nature, though she is also notably timid and lacks self-confidence, especially when compared to more assertive hunters.

Her personality is defined by a gentle, caring disposition and a strong desire to help others, but it is tempered by a deep-seated fear and a tendency to avoid danger. She consistently chooses dungeons far below her own rank, preferring safer environments over challenging ones. This cautiousness stems from a lack of inner conviction about her place as a hunter; she does not possess a powerful personal goal or driving ambition, instead participating in raids largely out of expectation or financial need.

Ju-Hee’s motivation shifts over the course of the story. Initially, she seems to work as a healer to earn a living and to support her friends. After surviving the traumatic double dungeon incident that nearly killed her and several others, she becomes increasingly haunted by fear. Her primary motivation becomes a struggle to overcome that trauma and regain her confidence, though she ultimately fails to do so. Her decision to retire from hunting is a turning point—she chooses a normal civilian life over the constant threat of danger, prioritizing her mental well-being.

In the overall narrative, Ju-Hee functions as an early anchor in Jinwoo’s life and as a foil to his character. She represents the path he might have taken if he had let fear dictate his choices. While Jinwoo grows stronger and more determined after the double dungeon, Ju-Hee stagnates and retreats, highlighting the difference in their mindsets. Her role is most prominent in the first major story arcs, where she appears as a steady, if worried, companion. After retiring and symbolically returning a mana crystal to Jinwoo—a gesture that signified her trust in him and her acceptance of her own limitations—she largely fades from the main plot, though she later participates in defending the Busan shoreline during the Jeju Island crisis, showing a brief return to duty before the timeline is reset.

Key relationships center on Sung Jinwoo. Ju-Hee is one of the few people who knew him when he was the weakest hunter and never treated him with contempt. She cared for him deeply, often scolding him for his recklessness, and her concern carried an undercurrent of romantic feeling. However, their paths diverge irreversibly after Jinwoo’s transformation. Their final interaction, in which she hands him the mana crystal, is a quiet farewell that acknowledges their different futures. Other significant relationships include her brief partnership with the B-Rank assassin Kang Taeshik, who attempts to kill her, and her later association with the veteran healer Song Chi-Yul, with whom she helps defend the coast.

Ju-Hee’s character development is one of acceptance rather than active growth. She begins as a kind but insecure healer, is broken by trauma, attempts to recover by continuing to hunt, and eventually admits she is too timid for the job. She makes a conscious decision to retire, a choice that brings her peace. After the timeline is rewritten by Jinwoo, she loses all memories of the original events and lives a completely ordinary civilian life, free from the dangers of hunting.

In terms of notable abilities, Ju-Hee is a proficient B-Rank healer capable of restoring hit points, removing debuffs, and applying beneficial buffs such as haste and attack power increases. She can also deploy area-of-effect healing zones that restore both health and mana to allies while damaging enemies. Her unique magical style revolves around divine energy and divination circles. Despite her rank, her combat ability is limited to support; she has low direct damage output and relies on her healing and utility to contribute to any raid party. Her most distinctive ability is her Overdrive, which fills a gauge rapidly through basic attacks and provides party-wide healing and attack boosts. Overall, her powers are specialized and effective within her supportive role, but they are never used to overcome her personal fears.
