TV-Series
Description
Abel Walker is a student at Easton Magic Academy and serves as the prefect of the Lang dormitory, where he is also the leader of an elite group known as Magia Lupus. He is a primary antagonist during the Magia Lupus arc and is considered a serious candidate for the title of Divine Visionary.
Abel is a young man of average height with a slim build, standing at 176 centimeters tall. He has shoulder-length hair with purple tips and distinctive pink eyes with black crosses running through his pupils. On his left cheek, he bears three magic marks, which are symbols of his magical level. His appearance is characterized by a white robe with purple highlights and a furred collar, worn over a black shirt and trousers with a white tie. He is almost always seen carrying a unique doll-shaped wand with a crack on the left side of its face, which he addresses as Mother.
Abel's personality is cold, mechanical, and rarely emotional, presenting the image of a strict and unfeeling aristocrat. He firmly believes that humanity is inherently evil and that the true nature of people is that of beasts. His worldview is built upon a ruthless interpretation of the survival of the fittest, where the strong have the right to dominate, exploit, and eliminate the weak, whom he considers to have inferior genes. He has no qualms about turning people into puppets and has stated his ambition to become a Divine Visionary to purge the world of commoners and those without magic. Despite his cruel ideology, Abel is a vegetarian whose favorite food is cherry tomatoes, and he dislikes owing debts to others. In his free time, he enjoys talking to his doll and playing card games like Old Maid with the members of Magia Lupus.
Abel's motivations and philosophy are rooted in a tragic childhood event. He was born into a wealthy noble family and deeply admired his mother, who was known for her extraordinary kindness and compassion toward the poor, regardless of their social status or magical ability. She taught Abel that their fortunate birth was a matter of chance and did not make them superior to others. This belief was shattered when his mother was brutally murdered by a poor man she was trying to help; after she reprimanded him for hoarding food meant for the needy, he stabbed her, showing no remorse and claiming it was a noble's comeuppance. This event led Abel to conclude that kindness toward the weak is dangerous and that those at the bottom of society deserve their place, turning his admiration for his mother into a vengeful desire to create a world governed by strength alone.
In his role at Easton Magic Academy, Abel is the prefect of Lang dorm and the leader of Magia Lupus, also known as the Seven Fangs, a group of elite and powerful students who share his discontent with the current social order. Under his leadership, Magia Lupus aggressively collects class coins to bolster his standing as a candidate for Divine Visionary. He is also notable for being an artificial triple-liner, possessing immense magical power. His third magic mark was not obtained naturally but was given to him by the mysterious organization Innocent Zero as part of a deal where Abel would provide them with information and search for a specific person within the academy. This artificial third line is constantly active and visible, unlike those of natural triple-liners.
Abel's personal magic is called Marioness, which allows him to control puppets. This ability extends beyond manipulating ordinary dolls to turning humans into puppets he can control with invisible strings. His primary spell, Marioness Change, transforms a target upon touch, though it can be resisted by a strong will or auto-reflexes. His most powerful technique is the Secondth, Harm Puppet, which summons a giant demonic puppeteer and releases invisible strings that can turn anything within a 100-meter radius into a controllable puppet. He can also command a large number of puppet soldiers, some of which are filled with highly corrosive acid. His counter spell, Marioness Liberation, releases all puppets and reverts them to their human form.
Throughout the story, Abel's key relationships are primarily with his subordinates in Magia Lupus, especially Abyss Razor, and with the protagonist, Mash Burnedead. He captures Mash's friend, Lemon Irvine, to lure him into a fight to obtain his gold coins. During their battle, Abel attempts to turn Mash into a puppet, but his magic proves ineffective against Mash's extraordinary physical strength and spinal reflexes. Following his defeat, Abel honestly admits his loss and releases all the students he had turned into puppets. Mash spares him, recognizing that his fight was motivated by his mother's memory and that he is not truly evil at his core. After this encounter, Abel shows significant development, changing the way he thinks and no longer seeing Mash as an enemy. He begins to question the rigidity of his ideology, especially after Mash and Abyss defend him when a member of Innocent Zero tries to eliminate him for his failure. Subsequently, Abel forms a polite relationship with Mash and his friends, often playing cards with them, and even assists Mash in later battles against other schools and during the invasion of the Magic Capital.
