Description
Dr. Mockus is a young and eccentric scientist who appears in Me & Roboco. Despite his aged and somewhat frail appearance, which includes a bald head, gray hair on the sides styled into spikes, a gray V-shaped mustache, and a mechanical right eye with a glass screen, he is only nineteen years old. He is typically seen wearing a shirt and a white lab coat, fitting his role as a researcher and inventor.
This character is defined by his obsessive and ultimately tragic rivalry with the titular Roboco. For reasons that remain unclear, Dr. Mockus is aware of Roboco's hidden past and her former designation as the Ultimate Weapon Roboco. Armed with this knowledge, he repeatedly challenges her to battle using a series of his own robot inventions, the most notable of which is his creation, Kanio. He serves as a recurring antagonist of sorts, attempting to prove the superiority of his own robotics over Roboco, but his efforts are consistently and effortlessly thwarted by her overwhelming power.
Dr. Mockus's primary motivation is his desire to defeat Roboco in combat. His repeated, crushing defeats have a profound and deteriorating effect on his mental state. The constant losses drive him to the brink of insanity, leading to a complete mental breakdown and leaving him in a state of being psychologically shattered. This decline is a core aspect of his character, transforming him from a simple antagonist into a figure of comedic tragedy.
His key relationship is with his own robot, Kanio, whom he commands to attack Roboco. He also has a direct, if one-sided, adversarial relationship with Roboco and her young master, Bondo. In his first appearance, Dr. Mockus confronts the pair, revealing Roboco's old title. When she initially refuses to fight, he persists, and Roboco eventually agrees to battle in an attempt to keep him quiet about her past. During the fight, Roboco plans to throw the match, but Dr. Mockus mockingly uses her old title again. This act infuriates Roboco, who then retaliates by burying Kanio deep into the ground. His notable abilities lie not in physical combat, but in his skill as a robot inventor, creating machines like Kanio to fight on his behalf. His mechanical right eye also suggests a history of self-modification or injury related to his scientific work.
