Description
Himura Takamine is a supporting character in the anime Shinobi no Ittoki and operates as a Koga ninja. He attends the same ninja academy as his peer, Suzaku Ban. His volatile temperament closely mirrors the aggressive and warmongering legacy of his father, Enbi, and this influence is central to his behavior. Takamine is belligerent, openly hostile, and views Ittoki Sakuraba, along with the Iga faction, as his enemies. He is essentially a bully who takes joy in tormenting those he perceives as weak. Notably, he is not particularly bright or subtle; he openly discusses plans to harm Ittoki in public areas, such as loudly asking Suzaku when they are going to kill him in the academy cafeteria. His impulsive nature and disdain for strategic planning often lead him to defy directives in order to chase personal grudges.

Takamine's primary motivation is a thirst for dominance and an unwavering loyalty to the Koga clan, though his crude methods consistently undermine his goals. His actions range from staging a public assassination attempt against Ittoki to rigging exam materials to falsely implicate him in cheating. In one instance, he was caught by a principal while attempting to stomp on Ittoki's head; he tried to plead self-defense, but the principal did not believe him as he had witnessed the entire incident and recognized that Ittoki was the one acting in self-defense. These confrontational acts highlight his tendency toward petty vengeance and tactical shortsightedness. Despite his aggressive exterior, he is also a terrible liar, and his clumsily veiled deceptions almost always backfire, leading to disciplinary action and reinforcing his reputation as a blunt instrument in the shadow wars between the ninja clans.

His narrative arc reveals a conflicted moral compass and a pragmatic, opportunistic side. After vowing never to submit to Suzaku during a climactic battle, Takamine later resurfaces within Suzaku’s advisory circle after the major conflict has ended. This shift signals a pragmatic realignment, suggesting that beneath his reckless bravado, he is capable of calculating opportunism. In terms of appearance, he is depicted as a teenage male with sharp brown eyes and cropped brown hair, typically wearing a standard-issue school uniform fastened with a tie. The etymology of his name combines the characters for "fire" or "flame" and "village," with a surname meaning "tall peak" or "summit".
