Description
Jachdwalt, also known by the title Jachdwalt the Mirage Blade, is a legendary swordsman from the nation of Letarmoshiri who becomes a notable ally in Yamato. His past reveals that in his youth, he encountered a wandering swordsman named Genjimaru. After repeatedly failing to take Genjimaru's blade, Jachdwalt eventually earned the veteran warrior's respect. When Genjimaru left the village, he entrusted his sword to Jachdwalt, impressed by the young man's determination.

Jachdwalt is the adoptive father of Shinonon, a young girl he fiercely protects. This relationship is central to his actions. He also has familial ties to Letarmoshiri, including a brother named Jammachiry who would later cause significant trouble for him. His past as a swordsman for hire meant he had no fixed master, traveling between countries and selling his skills with the blade.

On the surface, Jachdwalt possesses a casual, easygoing manner of speaking, which often leads others to perceive him as having a frivolous or carefree disposition. However, those who come to know him well understand that this exterior hides a deeply passionate and honorable man. This honorable nature is tested when the forces of Uzurusha take his adopted daughter Shinonon hostage. Initially forced to fight against Yamato to ensure her safety, his allegiance changes after Haku and his companions successfully rescue the girl. Choosing to turn on his captors, Jachdwalt joins forces with Haku's group as a genuine and steadfast ally.

As a key ally to Haku, who is operating under the name Oshtor, Jachdwalt contributes far more than just his combat skills. He provides strategic support with thoughtful insights that are born from his experienced outlook on life and warfare. In the aftermath of the conflict, he remains a trusted companion. True to a promise made to him, Jachdwalt is eventually granted a mansion in the Imperial Capital of Yamato, where he lives a more comfortable life with Shinonon. His role continues even in peacetime; whenever his daughter is summoned to the palace to act as a royal body double for the empress, Jachdwalt accompanies her as her attendant.

Jachdwalt earns his fearsome nickname from his incredible speed with a sword. His swordsmanship is described as unbelievably quick and so refined that it blurs the air around him, leaving mirage-like afterimages in his wake—hence the title Mirage Blade. This technique places him among the greatest swordsmen in Yamato. He demonstrates his abilities in direct conflict, notably when he duels his own brother, Jammachiry, to protect Shinonon and ensure that no further pursuers would come from his homeland. His combat style is described as dry,透彻, and efficient, reflecting a lifetime of relying on his sword for survival.
