Description
Asmodeus in Classroom for Heroes is not a student or a teacher, but rather a powerful, sentient magical sword that serves as a cursed heirloom of the noble Flaming family. Passed down through generations, this sword is the treasure of the House of Flaming, and the individual who successfully wields it is recognized as the next head of the family.

The sword is possessed by a demon of the same name, granting it a distinct will and personality. Asmodeus can manifest from the blade, typically appearing as a formless black smoke that can speak to its wielder, though it is unclear if others can perceive this form. Within the sword’s own internal world, however, the demon takes on a true, physical form. In terms of physical appearance when manifested, Asmodeus is an adult male with red eyes and horns, reflecting its demonic nature.

The primary role of Asmodeus in the story is as a source of immense power and a trial for Earnest Flaming, the heir to the Flaming house. Earnest first came into contact with the sword at the age of six, driven by curiosity, which resulted in an incomplete and unstable contract. This early bond with Asmodeus had a profound and lasting effect on her, turning her hair a vivid red and placing her under constant internal pressure from the demon’s influence. The sword's curse demands an iron will from its wielder; without it, Asmodeus would completely possess the individual. Much of Earnest's early character development is defined by her struggle to resist the demon's will and master the sword's power.

The relationship between Asmodeus and Earnest is central to her personal journey. For years, she fought an internal battle against the demon, and it was only through the careful observation and support of the hero Blade that she was able to overcome this challenge and become the sword’s true master. Her victory over the demon inside the sword’s world marked a major turning point, leading to a noticeable change in her demeanor and appearance. Despite being a powerful artifact, Asmodeus is also portrayed as having its own temperament and emotional state. Later in the series, the sacred sword runs away after losing confidence in itself, prompting Earnest to use her own brand of well-meaning severity to resolve the situation. The sword is also noted as being one of several ancient magical blades, and through an unusual series of events, it and a similar sword belonging to another character, Lunaria, produce a progeny that is entrusted to another student.

The abilities of Asmodeus are directly tied to its demonic nature and its connection to its wielder. It is a powerful flaming sword that grants Earnest exceptional combat abilities. More significantly, Asmodeus is the source of Earnest’s various Demon Modes, which are transformations that unleash the sword’s power. These forms allow her to be reborn from flames, divide herself into miniature versions, and even fuse with another character to achieve a form approaching divinity.
