Description
Chigusa Hitachi is a young human adventurer and a member of the Takemikazuchi Familia in the city of Orario. She is a native of the Far East and was raised by her deity, Takemikazuchi, alongside her childhood friends after being orphaned. She is a sixteen-year-old girl of short stature, standing 154 centimeters tall, with a small and delicate build. She has black, medium-length hair that usually covers her face, and when her bangs are parted, her dark green eyes are revealed. She wears a lavender kimono with red cloth wrapped around her waist, bandages around her neck and left upper leg, and a red piece of armor that covers only her left thigh.

Chigusa possesses a timid, shy, and introverted personality. She is reserved around people outside her immediate circle of childhood friends and often has difficulty speaking with others. Despite her quiet and gentle demeanor, she is deeply loyal to her Familia and her comrades. She is a very attentive and caring person with a high capacity for concentration. One of her primary motivations is her romantic feelings for her childhood friend and fellow Familia member, Ouka Kashima, to whom she is devoted. This connection is reflected in her alias, "Twin-Winged Maiden," which references the mythological Jian bird that has only one wing and one eye and must fly in pairs, symbolizing an eternal bond between couples.

As an adventurer, Chigusa has reached Level 2. Trained by Takemikazuchi himself, she is a skilled martial artist who has mastered multiple fighting styles and various weapons. She is particularly noted for her exceptional skill with a bow, an area in which she is said to surpass even the more prominently featured Mikoto Yamato. Her abilities are further enhanced by her falna, which grants her greatly improved physical prowess and senses. Her development ability is Abnormal Resistance, which negates the effects of poisons and other abnormalities, a crucial skill for dungeon exploration. She is also trained in infiltration and excels at teamwork, fighting efficiently alongside her allies. One of her known techniques is a high-speed movement secret art called "Shukuchi Zettou, Tundra Snowflake - Snow Shadow," which allows her to close distance with an enemy rapidly and deliver a series of four slashes.

Throughout the story, Chigusa's role is primarily as a supporting member of her Familia, but she becomes more prominent through her interactions with the Hestia Familia, particularly Bell Cranel. Key relationships include her strong bonds with her childhood companions: Ouka Kashima, for whom she harbors romantic feelings; Mikoto Yamato, with whom she shares an open and unembarrassed friendship; and Haruhime Sanjouno. Her journey shows development from a reserved background character to a more active participant in major events. She and her Familia become indebted to Bell after causing a "Pass Parade" incident, leading her to humbly apologize and later join rescue efforts. In one significant event, she was infected by a parasite from a powerful Moss Giant in the lower floors of the dungeon, falling into a life-threatening condition before being saved by Bell Cranel's Argo Vesta technique. Her growth and reliability are recognized when she is assigned to serve as a bodyguard for Liliruca Arde during the Faction War against the Freya Familia. During the conflict instigated by Freya, Chigusa falls victim to the goddess's city-wide charm, which alters her memories and causes her to fear Bell. She is later freed from the curse by Hestia's power and chooses to join the coalition fighting to save Bell Cranel.
