Description
Eldoran stands as Earth's ancient guardian and warrior of light, protecting the planet from extraterrestrial threats like the Mechanization Empire. This empire mechanized much of the solar system before turning to Earth. Restricted from direct combat, Eldoran empowers chosen human proxies with advanced combining mecha technology to defend Earth, a pattern repeated across multiple conflicts that establishes him as a greater-scope paragon within the franchise.
During the Mechanization Empire's main invasion, he intervenes by entrusting three dinosaur-based robots to a sixth-grade class. These robots combine into Go-Saurer, piloted collectively by the children called Saurers. Physically integrated with their school, the robots require partial detachment for deployment. Eldoran later enhances their power by providing additional mecha: the transformable Tyrannosaurus-based Magna Saurer and the Triceratops-based Gran Saurer. These combine with Go-Saurer to form advanced configurations such as King Go-Saurer.
His interventions span vast eras. He thwarted the Mechanization Empire's efforts 64 million years ago during the dinosaur age. He also facilitates the Saurers' time travel to this ancient period, enabling them to confront the Empire across temporal fronts and demonstrating his strategic manipulation of timelines to safeguard Earth.
Eldoran consistently empowers new generations of defenders. Appearing in all franchise installments alongside recurring human ally General Takeda, his role involves providing transformative technologies. For example, in the Daitei-Oh OVA, he enables the transformation of an entire school into the spacecraft Gokuracruiser.
Characterization focuses on his spiritual guidance during crises. He assists protagonists facing moral dilemmas, like Kenichi Minezaki's partial mechanization, and bolsters collective resolve against existential threats, such as Earth's potential full mechanization in the climax. His actions embody recurring themes of sacrifice and trust in humanity's potential.
