Description
Garumi Lou is a twelve-year-old girl who serves as an investigator for the Space Investigation Team of the Azathos Empire. She is the junior of a fellow investigator named Liza Luna and was sent to Earth on her first field mission. As part of this assignment, she lives in room 902 of Maison Arasuji alongside her close friend and partner, Luster Cole, whom she has known since she was seven years old.
In terms of appearance, Garumi has a petite and childlike stature that makes her look much younger than her actual age. Her most distinctive feature is the presence of two horn-like protrusions on her head, which are actually hardened sections of her hair that stick out on both sides. She has an energetic and cheerful personality, though she is also known for being honest to a fault, sometimes blurting out silly or funny thoughts without a filter.
The core of Garumi's character revolves around her overwhelming and uncontrollable love for cute animals, particularly fluffy ones. She has described herself as a fluffy maniac who falls for anything soft and cute. When she first arrived on Earth and encountered creatures like cats and dogs, she found it nearly impossible to control her excitement, often losing control and rushing toward them to pet them or acting wild in their presence. She once famously quipped that with enough fluffiness, she could eat three bowls of rice. A significant part of her personal growth throughout the story involves learning to better manage these impulses while living on Earth, although she still struggles to resist her desire to cuddle any fluffy creature she sees.
Despite her small and cute appearance, Garumi possesses high fighting skills and considerable physical strength. She is capable of handling difficult tasks and facing trouble bravely, which speaks to her competence as an investigator for the empire. Her motivations on Earth initially are professional, but they quickly become personal as she develops a deep attachment to the planet's animals. After noticing the bond between her senior colleague Liza Luna and her cat Yozora, Garumi felt a strong desire to experience the joy of loving a pet herself. This led her to visit a rabbit cafe called Marhelm for her first solo mission, where she was deeply touched by a rescued stray rabbit named Hinata. After passing a series of tests, she was allowed to adopt Hinata, and from that point forward, she became a passionate advocate for rabbits, believing them to be the cutest beings in the universe. This new conviction often leads her into heated but friendly debates with Liza Luna, who maintains that cats are superior.
Garumi's key relationships also include her uncle, Gaim Ru, who serves as the deputy commander of the Azathos Army's sixteenth combat team. Her development as a character is measured in her gradual adjustment to Earth life, her growing ability to control her cuteness-induced excitement, and her deepening understanding of what it means to care for another living creature as shown through her devotion to Hinata.
