Description
Saori Otaki, daughter of genius scientist Kyōtarō Otaki and older sister to protagonist Daigo Ōtaki, secretly managed the advanced Victor City following their father's death. This planned community was designed to preserve humanity after Earth became a wasteland, devastated by a global cataclysm triggered by a radioactive meteor. She remained estranged from Daigo for years as he grew up unaware of his family legacy, raised by their uncle.
Upon locating Daigo, Saori revealed their kinship and pleaded with him to inherit their father's Gordian robotic defense system – technology DNA-encoded for his exclusive control. Her own attempt to pilot Gordian had resulted in severe injuries, including burns, that nearly killed her, proving the system's biological lock to Daigo.
During the Madokter Army's invasion of Victor City, Saori played a critical leadership role. After the city fell to betrayal and attack, she coordinated the evacuation of civilians and Mechacon forces to the refuge of Santore. There, she shifted from administrator to resistance leader, managing resources, intelligence, and strategy against occupiers seeking Victor City's hidden energy source, Ixtron. She remained a key advisor and benefactor to the Mechacon 18th Regiment, supporting Daigo's battles from behind the scenes.
Tension characterized her relationship with Daigo, stemming from their father's secrets and her initial concealment of their kinship; she expressed frustration over his early reluctance to acknowledge her as his sister, though their dynamic evolved through shared adversity. Her leadership included overseeing Project X, their father's contingency plan involving guest characters like Ryoma Okamoto and Geronimo XVI to expand resources against the invaders.
After the occupation, Saori continued assisting Santore's defense and broader efforts to reclaim Victor City, balancing tactical responsibilities with unresolved familial emotions regarding her father's legacy and choices.
