Description
Dalf Rutter functions as a communications specialist for Victor Town's protectors, the 18th Mechacon Regiment. Assigned as Daigo Otaki's roommate during their service, he clings to a superstitious fear that anyone sharing his quarters faces imminent death, leading to constant anxiety for Daigo's safety.
His family lives in Los Angeles City, and he consistently sends them money. This connection is violently severed when the Madoctor army assaults the city, killing his parents. Outside military duties, he practices knitting as a personal hobby.
After Madoctor forces conquer Victor Town, he deserts his post in a desperate bid to rescue his trapped girlfriend, Cathy, during the chaotic evacuation. This act results in his temporary disappearance. He ultimately finds Cathy at the Santore stronghold, and they marry, becoming the series' sole confirmed romantic couple.
Generally exhibiting a pure-hearted and timid nature, he displays fierce conviction when confronting humanitarian suffering. He vehemently opposes Ryoma and Daigo's hesitation to aid the disaster-ravaged York Town, insisting on immediate mobilization for relief efforts.
Later, stationed at Santore, he commands a platoon during multiple missions and provides technical assistance to Dr. Hanamaki, specifically injecting the energy substance Ixtron into the airship Anoh.
