TV-Series
Description
Lawrence is a pastor who manages a small church on the outskirts of a peaceful town. He was educated at a seminary, where he formed a friendship with a fellow student named Abel, before taking up his post at the rural church. About a year before the events of the story, a saint named Cecilia arrived in his town and came to live with him at the church. From that point, Lawrence took on the responsibility of caring for her alongside his regular pastoral duties. His daily work includes guiding townspeople to the church so they can seek the saint's advice, making rounds to visit homes in the village, maintaining the church building, and preparing food for himself and Cecilia. A small personal detail is that he dislikes shellfish because he became sick from eating too much of it during childhood.

In temperament, Lawrence is serious, sincere, and polite. He deals with everyone honestly and patiently, and he approaches his responsibilities with a hardworking and dependable attitude. He is also a capable cook and handles most of the church's daily operations himself, often catering to Cecilia's needs while she rests. One of his defining traits is his overprotective nature toward Cecilia. He is deeply concerned for her well-being and tends to dote on her, yet he is completely unaware of the romantic feelings she directs at him. This combination of protectiveness and obliviousness shapes much of his behavior throughout the series.

Lawrence's motivations are rooted in his sense of duty as a pastor. He wants to keep the church running smoothly, support the townspeople who rely on it, and above all protect and care for Cecilia, whom he holds in deep respect. He consistently refers to her with the honorific "Saint" rather than calling her by name, a habit that reflects the reverence he feels for her position, even though his everyday manner toward her is warm and domestic.

In the story, Lawrence serves as the steady and responsible counterpart to Cecilia. He accepts her lazy private side without complaint, prepares her meals, looks after her comfort, and provides the stability that allows the church to function. His inability to recognize her feelings is central to the romantic comedy, as much of the humor comes from her open displays of affection meeting his complete lack of awareness. The townspeople watch their relationship with fondness and approval.

His most important relationship is with Cecilia. Over time, the two build a comfortable and trusting friendship, and Lawrence's acceptance of her true nature pleases her greatly. Other significant connections include Abel, his friend from seminary days, who briefly comes to work at his church; Rebecca, a clothing shop owner in town; and Rebecca's son Eric, whom Lawrence occasionally tutors. He also has warm interactions with the village children, including a young girl named Lily who has declared that she wants to marry Lawrence when she is older.

Lawrence's development over the series is gentle rather than dramatic. He grows more accustomed to living with Cecilia, becomes more at ease with her relaxed habits, and their bond deepens through their shared daily routines. However, he remains largely blind to her romantic interest, so his growth is expressed mainly through increasing trust and warmth rather than a change in how he understands their relationship.

His notable abilities are practical rather than supernatural. He is a skilled cook, a capable household manager, and an organized administrator who can run the church largely by himself. His seminary education gives him the pastoral knowledge needed to guide visitors and support the saint in her duties, and he also puts that knowledge to use as a tutor for local children such as Eric.
