Description
Dolcetto Mask, whose original Japanese name translates to Ikemen Kamen Amai Masuku, holds the prestigious rank of Number 1 in Class A of the Hero Association. Despite his official placement, his power is widely considered to surpass that of many S-Class heroes, and he effectively acts as a gatekeeper, preventing heroes he deems unworthy or unappealing from being promoted to the highest class. Beyond his hero duties, he is also a public idol, working as a popular singer, actor, and fashion model.

In terms of appearance, Dolcetto Mask is a tall, slender young man known for his striking beauty. He has disheveled, shoulder-length light blue hair and sharp yellow eyes. He typically wears a fashionable white jacket over a grey t-shirt, black pants, and shoes. An unusual physical trait is that his eyes can shift from yellow to a menacing red when he is intensely angry or enraged, hinting at something beyond ordinary humanity. This is further suggested by his extraordinary durability, as his skin can resist piercing attacks that would wound a normal person, and he has demonstrated the ability to reattach a severed arm or regenerate parts of his face, leading to speculation that he is not entirely human.

His personality is a study in stark contrasts. On the surface, he is charismatic, charming, and genuinely popular with the public. He speaks eloquently and sincerely believes that heroes exist to protect the citizens, and that they must project an image of strength, perfection, and beauty to give people hope. He puts immense pressure on himself to find new ways to satisfy his fans and maintain this ideal. However, this polished exterior conceals a ruthless and merciless core. Dolcetto Mask harbors an intense, uncompromising hatred for evil in all its forms. He believes that anything he deems evil, including accomplices or those who surrender, must be exterminated immediately and without mercy. He has been shown executing defeated and surrendering aliens without hesitation, demonstrating that his sense of justice is absolute and violent.

His primary motivation is to see the creation of a perfect S-Class, composed entirely of heroes who are both invincible in battle and beautiful in appearance. He cannot tolerate heroes who are weak, lose easily, or are aesthetically displeasing. This driving philosophy is also his most notable weakness; when confronted with monsters or enemies he considers exceptionally ugly, he loses a significant portion of his combat drive and effectiveness, as he finds them repulsive to the point of distraction.

Within the story, Dolcetto Mask is a formidable combatant with superhuman speed and strength, allowing him to dispatch powerful monsters with ease. He plays a significant role in the narrative through his complex relationship with the protagonist, Saitama. Initially, he is disdainful of Saitama for being a low-ranking hero who does not conform to his standards of fame or beauty. However, after witnessing Saitama's overwhelming, immeasurable power, he becomes fascinated and begins to admire him, redefining his own concept of beauty to include such absolute strength. His development involves a gradual shift from viewing heroism as a performance of aesthetics and popularity to a grudging recognition that true heroism might be defined solely by one's deeds and power.
