Description
Asuka Mirai is a main character in the Aikatsu Friends! series and a top-tier idol known for her charisma and unwavering dedication to her craft. She is a graduate of Star Harmony Academy and is in her second year of high school during the first part of the story, later continuing her idol career as a young adult. Her birthday is on May 9, and she stands at 165 centimeters tall, making her the tallest among the main characters. As a pop-type idol, her preferred and self-designed clothing brand is Milky Joker. Together with her partner Karen Kamishiro, she forms the legendary duo Love Me Tear, and they are the winners of the Diamond Friends Cup, a prestigious competition for idol pairs.

Physically, Mirai is recognized by her sharp cyan or emerald green eyes and her long cerise red hair. Her signature hairstyle consists of braided sections on each side of her head, with the remaining hair loosely bound into puffy pigtails by yellow bows. During her earlier years at Star Harmony Academy, she wore her pigtails higher with purple bows, giving her a slightly younger appearance. Her typical casual attire includes a simple yet stylish purple polo shirt. Her image color is red, which reflects her energetic and passionate personality.

Mirai's personality is multi-faceted, blending a glamorous public image with a serious and hardworking core. She is described as a charismatic fashion leader who is highly sensitive to trends and active on social media, where she cultivates a differ-cute persona, meaning she is both cute and possesses a slightly sharp or poisonous sense of humor. Despite her sparkling exterior, she is characterized by the overwhelming effort she pours into her work, constantly striving to find a new version of herself that is unique and authentic. This has earned her a reputation as the model idol among idols, a senior figure whom younger performers look up to. She is typically vibrant and gregarious but can adopt a more serious and critical stance when she sees others failing to meet their potential, particularly regarding the bonds between partners.

Mirai's primary motivation is the relentless pursuit of self-improvement and innovation as an idol. She is not only a performer but also a creator, serving as the designer and muse for her own brand, Milky Joker, which reflects her playful yet edgy sense of style. Her role in the story evolves from a top-tier champion to a mentor and guide for the next generation of idols. Upon the second season, she begins a program called Mirai's Miracle Audition to discover and develop new talent, putting her experience as a designer and top idol to use in honing young hopefuls.

Key relationships are central to her character. Her bond with her partner, Karen Kamishiro, is the most significant. Together as Love Me Tear, they have a deep and trusting partnership that has weathered serious conflicts. Mirai has mentioned that she and Karen once had a major fight that was resolved through a dramatic reconciliation ceremony, an event she deemed too intense to include in her autobiography, The Love Me Tear Story. She has a friendly but fierce rivalry with Hibiki Tensho, often challenging her whenever they meet to push both of them to greater heights. As a senior, Mirai acts as a supportive advisor to junior idols, particularly Aine Yuki. She helps Aine adjust to idol activities, gives her advice, and often finds her interesting. A notable protégé is Wakaba, the winner of Mirai's Miracle Audition.

Mirai's development is shown through her interactions with others and her innovative problem-solving. In one notable instance, she guides Mio Minato and Aine Yuki through a reconciliation ceremony after their fight, helping them restore their partnership. In another, when faced with a kingdom that bans idol activities, she cleverly sidesteps the restriction by creating a coded phrase, Kisu Idatsukaia, which is an anagram of I love Aikatsu, allowing her to continue performing and spreading the joy of being an idol. This showcases her wit, creativity, and determination to overcome any obstacle.

Among Mirai's notable abilities is her skill as a live performer. Her solo aura, which appears during her stage performances, is characterized by triangular neon signs, giving her shows a modern and vibrant visual motif. Her ultimate ability as a top idol is showcased when she wears a high-tier performance outfit known as a Jeweling Dress, specifically the Garnet Jeweling Dress, which represents her peak form and elegance. Outside of idol activities, her specialties include playing golf. She loves taking photographs of everyday life and has a well-known fondness for sweets, especially popcorn, while disliking the bitterness of black coffee.
