Description
PooJiro is a character in the anime Kedama no Gonjiro, a small creature closely connected to the series' main character Gonjiro. He came into being from a hairball that Gonjiro gave to the boy Makoto as a token of friendship, which makes him an offshoot of Gonjiro himself and gives him the standing of a younger brother and partner to the main character. His name reflects the way he communicates, as he does not speak in ordinary words and instead expresses himself only with the sound Puu.

Within the story, PooJiro's role is tied to Gonjiro and Makoto as a loyal companion. He appears alongside Gonjiro and assists him during the various incidents and adventures the characters face. His most distinctive trait is the Onachar ability, a technique in which pressing PooJiro's rear end converts his flatulence into power that can be used by Gonjiro. This gives PooJiro a practical and comedic function in the duo's teamwork, and it is the ability most associated with him.

PooJiro's personality is conveyed mainly through his simple, playful nature and his strong bond with Gonjiro, from whom he was created. Because his origin lies in a gesture of friendship, his existence is closely linked to the relationship between Gonjiro and Makoto, and he functions as a dependable junior companion within that circle. Despite having almost no spoken lines beyond his characteristic Puu, his loyalty, his connection to Gonjiro, and his signature Onachar power make him a memorable supporting figure in the series.
