Description
Garer, also called Gaira, is one of the Heavenly Four generals serving the Northern warlord Dan-Joe. He is a seven-foot-tall beast-like humanoid with distinct tiger-striped characteristics, belonging to a race often termed "tigermen" alongside his brothers. His younger brother, Gaten, acts as his primary strategist during military operations.
Garer commands substantial naval forces and employs aggressive boarding tactics in space combat, frequently utilizing ship ramming maneuvers enabled by infantry units poised to invade enemy vessels upon impact. His loyalty to Dan-Joe ultimately fractures, leading him to spearhead a rebellion against the Northern ruler. This revolt, openly defying Dan-Joe's authority, is explicitly depicted in episode 14, "Revolt of Garer."
The rebellion climaxes in Garer's defeat and death in episode 31, "Fall of Garer," where he is killed in combat. His demise occurs within the wider galactic conflict between the Northern faction and the Southern forces aligned with Queen Massina (also known as Masamune or Mussamney). Documented appearances are confined to this series.
