Hyun Chung is a Regular who appears during the Workshop Battle arc aboard the Archimedes, specifically within the storyline of Tower of God: The Return of the Prince. He has a distinct, vaguely monk-like appearance characterized by a completely shaven head and rectangular-framed glasses. In terms of personality, Hyun Chung is a notably calm individual, and his demeanor is marked by a ritualistic quality; whenever he is required to place a bet or make a gamble, he first recites his chants. Koon, another Regular, has observed that Hyun Chung possesses good intuition.

His primary role in the story is as one of ten gamblers selected to participate in a game called Plug. During this test, he is frequently seen praying to ensure he makes the right betting choices. Despite his efforts and intuition, he ultimately fails along with eight of the other gamblers. Later, during the Development Tournament quarter-finals, Hyun Chung chooses two individuals, Tebo and Lebo, to serve as his Vanguards. He expresses confidence that they will defeat their opponent, Ja Wangnan of Team Tangsooyook, at the summoning area. However, after Koon identifies and exploits a weakness in Tebo and Lebo's abilities, Wangnan succeeds in defeating them, leading to the elimination of Hyun Chung and his team from the tournament.
