Description
Celestia Noodlina, known as Noodle Sorako in the Japanese version, is a character from the anime Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens. She first appears managing a ramen shop called Out of This World Ramen, located in the underground Garden of Curiosity, an area frequented by employees of Goha Enterprises. Celestia claims to be an alien from the Menmen system in the Ra Nebula, having chosen her Earth name because her real one is unpronounceable to humans.
In terms of appearance, Celestia is a petite young girl with a very pale yellowish complexion, blond hair arranged in a ring around her head, and aqua eyes with star-shaped highlights. Her entire outfit is themed after a stereotypical flying saucer. She wears a light grey dress with star patterns and a bulging skirt, along with a metal neck piece resembling a pan. Notably, she can retract her head and limbs into this dress, at which point she fully resembles a flying saucer and is capable of flight.
Her personality is chirpy and cheerful, with little self-awareness regarding her strange behavior. She commonly peppers her sentences with beeps and other stereotypical alien speech patterns, especially when startled. Celestia is genuinely excited by the passion and potential she sees in humans, as demonstrated when she casually offers to show the ramen-obsessed Saburamen around the galaxy shortly after meeting him. However, when saddened, she becomes significantly more mournful, though she does her best to brush such feelings aside and reassure others.
Celestia's motivations are initially unclear. She lives and works underground without complaint, and does not confirm whether she is working for or even knows Nail Saionji. However, during the King of Duels arc, she is revealed to be one of six girls sharing her appearance who were hired by Otes to help him realize his plan to destroy Dueling altogether. She joins Otes in a giant robot beyond the moon, working alongside her counterparts to throw meteors at the protagonists shuttle and later attack the Super Rush Robot by launching her UFO Topping Shoot, a bowl of ramen noodles with a flying saucer on top.
Key relationships in her story include her bond with Saburamen, who becomes her primary Duel opponent and the person she connects with over their shared love of ramen. She is deeply moved by his passion and promises never to forget him when she must return to space. She is also one of five identical-looking girls, including Terra Kneadalina, Prioria Sweetalina, Oceania Illumilina, and Sagawa Konvoy, all of whom share her appearance and voice actress with different names and design themes.
Throughout her development, Celestia remains a somewhat enigmatic figure. Her debut Duel against Saburamen reveals that her ship is powered by her Life Points, and if her LP reaches zero, her UFO will stop functioning, forcing her to return to her mothership to recharge. After losing to Saburamen, she returns to space, promising to remember him. Later, during the lunar confrontation, she and her counterparts depart abruptly when their shift alarm sounds, explaining it is time for them to clock out, suggesting a surprisingly mundane work schedule for supposed alien beings. Two years later, she is briefly seen flying over a middle school in her saucer form.
As a Duelist, Celestia uses a DARK Pyro Deck composed of monsters that blend alien and ramen ingredient themes. Her strategy revolves around the Field Spell Outer Space, as her Effect Monsters require it to be active to activate their effects. Unusually for Pyro Type monsters, all of hers are DARK Attribute. Her key monsters include Cosmic String Noodryad and Galaxy Topping Troll. She also utilizes Trap Cards such as Chashooting Star and Dark Butter. In her only on-screen Duel, she loses to Saburamen.
