Description
Aria Governess is a prominent supporting character in Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles, known for her unwavering loyalty and exceptional capabilities. She serves as the chief maid and most trusted aide to Liselotte Cretia, the proprietor of the Lotte Trading Company. Aria's background is one of significant change, beginning with her birth as the daughter of a viscount in the Kingdom of Beltrum. During her early years, she attended the Royal Academy, where she was a classmate and close friend of the brilliant mage Celia Claire. In her sixth year at the academy, Aria's family fell from noble standing due to financial ruin, forcing her to leave her education behind and seek employment.

Following her family's downfall, Aria took a position as a head maid in Beltrum's royal castle. During her time there, she was assigned to assist Rio, also known as Amakawa Haruto, by teaching him etiquette alongside Celia Claire in preparation for his audience with the king after he helped rescue Princess Flora Beltrum. Despite her noble upbringing and professional demeanor, Aria found the environment at the castle to be uncomfortable, largely due to harassment from coworkers who looked down on her status as a fallen noble. She ultimately resigned from her post and became an adventurer for four years, during which she earned the nickname Reaping Princess for her formidable combat skills.

Her path changed when she was scouted by Liselotte Cretia, who recognized her potential and employed her as chief maid even before establishing her trading company. Aria has since pledged absolute loyalty to Liselotte, serving not only as her head maid and grand chamberlain but also as her personal escort and the strongest of all her retainers. Her devotion runs so deep that Liselotte eventually trusted her with the secret of her past life as a reincarnated person, a truth not even shared with her own parents.

In terms of personality, Aria is characterized as calm, responsible, and deeply caring. She is intelligent, sincere, and trustworthy, forming strong bonds with both her employer and her fellow maids. Her resilience in the face of adversity speaks to her inner strength, and she approaches both mundane domestic tasks and dangerous combat missions with equal diligence. She is also perceptive, once recognizing Celia Claire despite her disguise due to a strong sense of déjà vu.

Aria possesses notable abilities that set her apart from typical servants. She is an exceptionally skilled swordswoman, having been the best in her academy class in swordsmanship while Celia excelled in magic. Her close-quarters combat skills have been acknowledged as superior to Sara and nearly on par with the knight Alfred Emerle. She wields a powerful magical sword called Lethal Bringer, a gift from Liselotte, which enhances her physical strength and slicing power while inflicting wounds that heal slowly. Although swordsmanship is her specialty, Aria is also competent in magic and can trigger her spells more quickly than the average mage.

Her role in the story extends beyond domestic management. Aria participates actively in dangerous missions, most notably volunteering to accompany Rio to rescue Liselotte when she was kidnapped during a political crisis orchestrated by a character named Erika. In a side story, she also delivers a letter from Rio to Celia Claire in Amande, demonstrating her role as a trusted intermediary. Her development includes growing trust with Rio, who later shares secrets with her about spirit arts and his hidden residence, showing that she has become a confidante to multiple key characters.
