TV-Series
Description
Nasa Yuzaki is the main protagonist of the series. His given name is written with the kanji for starry sky, chosen by his father with the hope that he would be as vast as space, but the unusual reading led to constant mockery during his childhood. Determined to become someone no one could make fun of, he devoted himself to intense study from a young age, eventually achieving top marks on high school practice exams. Instead of pursuing a traditional high school education, he worked multiple part-time jobs and later became a freelance programmer and consultant, developing professional-level skills in accounting, programming, and general technical problem-solving.
His life changes dramatically on a snowy night after a practice exam. While trying to approach a girl he is instantly drawn to, he is struck by a truck. The girl, Tsukasa, saves him from fatal injury. When he confesses his love, she agrees to date him only on the condition that they get married first. Two years later, on his eighteenth birthday, she appears at his doorstep with a marriage registration form, and they begin their life as a married couple.
Nasa is characterized by a sharp, logical mind and a deeply pragmatic worldview. He is highly organized, keeping backups of his digital data in cloud storage and insuring his possessions, often remarking that he would be unbothered even if his apartment burned down because everything important is replaceable. Despite his intellectual brilliance, he notably lacks common sense in everyday matters, especially when it comes to romance and social cues. He is honest, hardworking, and communicates easily with others, even managing to win over initially hostile acquaintances with little effort. His defining trait is his profound and unwavering devotion to his wife, Tsukasa, whom he openly praises as the cutest girl in the world. He remains calm and rational in the face of disasters, though he is easily flustered by the subtler emotional nuances of his marriage.
His primary motivation shifts over the course of the story. Initially driven by a desire to overcome the shame of his name through academic and professional achievement, his focus becomes entirely centered on being the best husband he can be. He dedicates himself to Tsukasa’s happiness and gradually becomes invested in uncovering the mysteries surrounding her past, which includes hints of immortality and a connection to the legend of Princess Kaguya. His role is that of a devoted partner who navigates the challenges of an unconventional marriage while helping his wife experience a normal, joyful life.
His key relationships circle around his bond with Tsukasa, which forms the emotional core of the story. He also maintains close friendships with the Arisugawa sisters: Kaname, who gives him often teasing but perceptive relationship advice, and Aya, a former classmate who initially harbors a crush on him but later becomes a supportive friend. He develops a tense but eventually amicable relationship with Chitose Kaginoji, Tsukasa’s protective adoptive sister. He also has a mixed relationship with his cat, Toast, enjoying when Tsukasa plays with the cat but disliking interruptions to their time together.
Nasa’s development traces a path from a hyper-logical, goal-oriented loner to a more emotionally open and present partner. He learns to balance his analytical nature with the unpredictability of love, repurposing his formidable problem-solving abilities to create a stable and happy home life. His arc shows him gradually embracing spontaneity and prioritizing his wife’s well-being above all else.
His notable abilities include genius-level mathematical and physics knowledge, advanced programming and accounting skills, and a talent for fixing and upgrading household appliances and electronics. He can teach high school programming classes and often acts as a resourceful handyman, able to perform emergency repairs with whatever materials are available. His calm, methodical approach allows him to handle crises effectively, though his lack of everyday worldly wisdom remains a persistent blind spot.
