Description
Orihara is a supporting character in the anime Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro 2nd Attack. She is a high school student at the same school as Hayase Nagatoro and her friends, and she belongs to the judo club. Through constant training and exceptional natural talent, she has risen to a very high level in judo and is regarded as a candidate for the national Olympic team. Her first name is never revealed, and she is known only by her family name. Physically, she is a teenage girl with black hair cut to neck length and yellow eyes.
In personality, Orihara is energetic, positive, joyful, and passionate. In her everyday life she is cheerful and approachable, and she treats the people around her with consistent warmth and friendliness. When she is on the judo mat, however, she becomes serious and deeply focused, showing a disciplined side that reflects her dedication to the sport. Her outlook is driven largely by her love of judo and her ambition to compete at the highest level, and she pursues that goal through hard work and perseverance.
Her most important role in the story is tied to Nagatoro. Orihara is, in effect, Nagatoro's main judo rival, though she is completely unaware of this status. She once defeated Nagatoro in a judo match, and that loss stirred a renewed sense of determination in Nagatoro and inspired her to join the judo club with the goal of one day beating Orihara. In the second season, Orihara's reappearance reignites Nagatoro's fighting spirit and gives her a concrete target to work toward in her training. The dynamic between them is one-sided in a friendly sense: Nagatoro views Orihara as her primary opponent, while Orihara remains cheerfully oblivious and always treats Nagatoro warmly.
In terms of development, Orihara does not experience a major personal transformation over the course of the story. Instead, she functions largely as a catalyst for Nagatoro's growth, with her sincerity, skill, and positive attitude pushing Nagatoro to take her own abilities more seriously. Her notable abilities lie almost entirely in judo, where her combination of athleticism, technique, and relentless hard work places her at an elite level and makes her a formidable presence whenever she competes.
