Description
Eva Aensland is a noble from the fallen kingdom of Keryneion and later becomes the first head of state of its reborn incarnation. She is a young woman with wavy, sky-blue hair and an intelligent, refined bearing. Her physical appearance is a source of some personal insecurity, as she is notably self-conscious about her modest bust size, especially in comparison to her younger sister, Luria, and she becomes visibly irritated when others make internal comparisons between them.
Her personality is defined by a mixture of resilience, intelligence, and deep-seated vulnerability. While she possesses a strong will and a sharp mind, she is also quite sensitive. This is most apparent in her reaction to violence, as she is skilled in healing magic but faints at the sight of blood or gruesome scenes. Having lost her family and homeland to a demon invasion a decade ago, she and her sister faced persecution from surviving relatives who blamed them for being spared. Despite these hardships, Eva never abandoned the seemingly impossible dream of one day reviving both her noble house and the nation of Keryneion.
Driven by this ambition, she sought the power and resources needed to liberate her homeland, which had been transformed into a fortress called Fort Stella. This quest for power led her to join an anti-Goddess cult as a low-ranking member. Initially hoping to use the organization to achieve her goals, she soon came to regret her involvement after witnessing its cruel realities, finding herself trapped in a dangerous situation she could not escape. While working as a librarian at the academy in the city of Rotsgard, her path crossed with Makoto Misumi. After reporting his abilities to the cult, a series of misunderstandings led to her imprisonment on suspicion of betrayal. She was rescued by Makoto, his servant Lime, and their allies.
Following her rescue, Eva revealed her full background and the details of her true parents to Makoto. In exchange for a substantial reward—the hidden wealth of the Aensland family—she requested his help in destroying the cult cell operating within Rotsgard. After the cult's leader was defeated, she returned to her librarian post, considering it a safer occupation. When Makoto declined her monetary reward, requesting a book recommendation instead, she took it as a personal challenge to find a volume that would captivate him, staking her pride as a librarian on the task.
Her primary relationship is with her younger sister, Luria, whom she cares for deeply. Her relationship with Makoto evolves from cautious alliance to mutual trust and respect; she becomes a close associate of his company, Kuzunoha, and he becomes instrumental in realizing her dreams. After the fall of Fort Stella, thanks in large part to the efforts of Makoto and his companions, the foundation for Keryneion's reconstruction was laid. Eva was subsequently elected as the head of state of the reborn nation, which she envisions as a place where humans and demi-humans can coexist peacefully. In this new role, she found herself overwhelmed by the extraordinary expectations and standards of Makoto and his allies, receiving guidance from demi-humans on governance and often surviving on as little as one hour of sleep per night as she worked tirelessly to keep pace with them.
