Description
Pap Finn, Huck's father, is a neglectful and abusive alcoholic. He abandons his son for long stretches, displaying no regard for Huck's welfare or living situation. Pap reappears solely upon learning of Huck's potential adoption by the wealthy Widow Douglas, driven by the aim of exploiting her fortune through his connection to Huck. His conduct is persistently violent and threatening, creating a perilous environment for Huck. This abuse compels Huck to stage his own death to escape. Pap's actions function as the catalyst that forces Huck to flee and seek freedom. Throughout the narrative, the character exhibits no development and remains defined by selfishness, aggression, and a complete absence of paternal care.
