Description
Chevalier noir, whose real name is Felm, is a female soldier from the demon army who holds the title of Black Knight. Her background is that of a core combatant for the demon lord's forces, where she served as a key asset during the demon army's second invasion of the kingdom. In her role as the Black Knight, she was a formidable enemy who inflicted severe injuries on the heroes Kazuki Ryusen and Suzune Inukami.

In terms of personality, Felm initially appears listless and lacking in motivation, a demeanor that carried over from her time in the demon army. Within the demon forces, she is described as having been somewhat of a lazy individual who relied heavily on her innate magical talent to succeed without much effort. Despite this lazy streak, she is capable of fierce action in battle, as demonstrated when she nearly killed the two heroes. After her defeat and capture, her personality begins to show more nuance. She develops a distinct soft spot for Ken Usato, the healer who defeated her, and displays a tsundere-like tendency where she tries to hide her genuine happiness and concern for him behind a tough or indifferent exterior. She becomes visibly worried when she learns Ken will be leaving on a dangerous mission.

Felm's primary motivation in the early story is simply to serve the demon army, a path she followed without much personal drive due to her natural abilities. However, after her capture, her motivations shift dramatically. Her primary desire becomes to integrate into her new life, despite the difficulties, and to grow closer to Ken, whose warm touch and kind nature she had never experienced before. She agrees to cooperate with the kingdom and provide information about the demons, specifically requesting to see Ken as a condition. Her new goal, imposed upon her by the kingdom, is to reform into what is called an upright demon and become a functioning member of the Rescue Team.

In the story, Felm's role begins as that of a major antagonist and a significant obstacle for the main characters. Her power is so great that she single-handedly defeats two of the summoned heroes, forcing Ken Usato to confront her. After her defeat, her role transforms into that a captive and then a reluctant trainee. She is placed in the custody of the Rescue Team, led by the healer Rose, where she is expected to learn a new way of life and contribute to the very side she once fought against. Her presence serves as a point of character development for Ken, who shows her compassion, and as a way to explore the theme of redemption and the humanizing of the demon race.

Her key relationships are primarily with two characters. The most significant is with Ken Usato. He is the one who defeated her in combat, using his unique healing magic to bypass her abilities, and later heals her wounds, which is the first time she experiences someone's warm touch. Ken gives her a diary to help her cope with her harsh training and new life, and she becomes deeply attached to him, feeling immense happiness when he says her name. The other crucial relationship is with Rose, the captain of the Rescue Team. Rose takes on the role of Felm's stern taskmaster and mentor, determined to reform her through intense and brutal training, much like she did with Ken. Rose sees potential in Felm and is committed to making her a productive member of the team, even as Felm struggles to adapt.

Felm undergoes significant development. She begins as a powerful but unmotivated enemy soldier. After being defeated, captured, and healed by Ken, she starts to change. Her initial laziness clashes with the demanding expectations of the Rescue Team, causing her to struggle and even attempt to run away, though not to return to the demons. With Ken's encouragement and a diary to process her experiences, she begins to adapt. She learns to express concern for others, specifically Ken, and starts her difficult journey toward becoming a reformed individual under Rose's brutal but effective tutelage. By the end of the first season, she has transitioned from a feared enemy to a potential ally who is beginning to care about the people around her.

Felm's most notable ability is a unique form of magic called Reversal or Reflection. This power allows her to automatically reflect any attack she receives back at her opponent, making her an extremely dangerous foe in direct combat. It was this ability that allowed her to grievously wound Kazuki and Suzune, as their own attacks were turned against them. However, this power has a critical weakness: it does not work against healing magic. Ken Usato was able to defeat her by using a healing punch, an offensive technique that combines a physical strike with healing magic. Because her Reflection ability recognizes the attack as healing, it fails to activate, leaving her vulnerable to the full force of his blow. Beyond her magical talent, she also possesses an affinity for sneaking and gathering information, which she uses to learn about Ken's upcoming departure.
