TV-Series
Description
Clops is a small, black, anthropomorphic creature who serves as a supporting character in the series. Clops is one half of a pair of twin servants, the other being Cy. The two are distinguished by their physical features; while Cy possesses a single large purple eye and small arms, Clops has a large mouth and small, three-clawed feet. Clops stands barely twenty centimeters in diameter, giving them a spherical, almost ball-like appearance. For formal occasions in the palace, Clops wears a simple green bowtie. During nighttime, Clops and Cy are shown wearing nightcaps with polka-dots; Clops's cap is orange with yellow dots and features two cat-like ears.

Clops and Cy were both born as runts and considered defective failures by the One-Eye Clan. Their existence as individuals was seen as incomplete because they could only fully function as one entity when together. The pair were rescued by King Leonhart, who subsequently gave them the important duty of performing errands around the palace. Following Leonhart's introduction of the human sacrifice Sariphi, Clops and Cy were assigned as her caretakers and constant companions, becoming two of her most loyal and devoted attendants. Their devotion to Sariphi stems largely from her inherent kindness, as she was one of the first beings to treat them with genuine warmth and respect, mirroring the compassion Leonhart had shown them.

In terms of personality, Clops is the more precocious and talkative of the two. Clops does most of the speaking for the pair, often speaking on behalf of Cy and finishing his sentences. According to author notes, while Cy is actually a little bit smarter, he has a harder time speaking, so Clops handles verbal communication for them. Clops is deeply kind-hearted and dislikes meanness. The pair's primary hobby and motivation is taking care of Sariphi, ensuring her well-being and supporting her through the many challenges she faces as she attempts to become the queen of beasts. While they are officially genderless, another character refers to them as male.

A unique aspect of Clops and Cy is their shared sensation. Because they are two parts of a single functional individual, they share physical sensations between them. If Clops eats something, Cy can also taste it; conversely, if Cy sees something, Clops can perceive the same visual information. This deep connection explains their argument in a side story over a gift of pancakes and a drawing, as they had not initially thought to share the sensations of the gifts with one another due to their separate physical forms. This ability to function as one being is also the very reason they were considered defective by their original clan.

Within the story's role, Clops and Cy are frequently seen accompanying Sariphi throughout the castle. They offer commentary on events, express concern for her safety, and assist her in various tasks. For instance, when the young princess Tetra demanded Sariphi act as her horse, Clops and Cy immediately protested, arguing that Sariphi was not a horse. They also provide information and context about the world, such as explaining that children in their world take after the parent with the strongest bloodline. A decade after the main events of the series, Clops and Cy are still in service, seen chasing after a young prince named Richard. Throughout the series, they act not just as servants, but as loyal friends to Sariphi and as an embodiment of the idea that kindness can be found even among those deemed imperfect or failures.
