Description
Dolly, an 8-year-old African boy, fights with the Returners against the oppressive domed city of Datania. He serves as their primary computer hacking specialist, wielding advanced technical skills to infiltrate and manipulate digital systems – expertise crucial for missions targeting Datania's forces. Despite the high stakes, Dolly maintains a cheerful and mischievous personality, often engaging in playful teasing. He particularly enjoys provoking Cluster, an emotional computer program he nicknames "old man," sparking regular disputes between them. Dolly relies on Cluster, however, to facilitate communication with Eightron. His fascination with 21st-century culture manifests in frequently humming the song "Blue Mountains," a habit that annoys his teammate May. While technically gifted, Dolly prefers the company of fellow hacker Lolo over children his own age, showcasing unconventional maturity alongside lingering childlike traits. He possesses the unique ability to summon Eightron, a powerful entity that intervenes during critical moments to aid the group. This ability diminishes after the initial episodes, reducing Eightron's role as a recurring solution. Dolly's technical contributions and connection to Eightron remain vital assets throughout the Returners' journey.
