Description
Kondo is a civil servant and field officer working for the Japanese government's Ajin Management Committee, the task force established to hunt, capture, and study the immortal beings known as Ajin. He serves as a capable and dedicated investigator within this organization.

In terms of personality, Kondo is defined by his level-headedness, excellent judgment, and strong sense of responsibility. He is a calm and professional presence who approaches the highly volatile situation with measured pragmatism. Unlike some of his more aggressive or ethically compromised colleagues, Kondo carries out his duties with a quiet integrity, focusing on the practical aspects of his missions without cruelty or fanaticism. His primary motivation stems from this sense of duty and a sincere belief in his role as a protector of public order.

Kondo's role in the narrative is that of a recurring supporting figure within the human governmental faction. He is directly involved in the initial operations to capture the newly disclosed Ajin, Kei Nagai. Later, when the terrorist Ajin known as Satou begins his devastating public campaign, Kondo's role shifts from hunter to a frontline agent in the desperate struggle to contain the threat. He contributes strategic advice and field coordination.

His key relationships are primarily professional. He works directly under the command of Yuu Tosaki, a relationship built on formal respect for authority. He collaborates closely with Izumi Shimomura, the Ajin operative working for the government, and other members of the task force. He serves as an antagonist to Kei Nagai early in the series, though the situation evolves into a complex dynamic of mutual necessity against a greater enemy.

In terms of development, Kondo does not undergo a drastic personal transformation. Instead, his steady character is highlighted by the escalating crises around him. He consistently uses his excellent judgment to navigate the impossible scenarios presented by the conflict with Satou. While he is ultimately unable to stop Satou on his own, his competence and reliability make him a memorable fixture within the story's ensemble.

Kondo's notable abilities are grounded in his human skills. He is a capable investigator and field agent, proficient in surveillance, tactical planning, and direct action. He possesses no supernatural powers, which distinguishes him from the Ajin characters. His greatest strength is his mental fortitude and clear thinking, which allows him to act as a stabilizing voice of reason amidst the chaos and horror of the series.
