TV-Series
Description
Fong Lee, an American student of Chinese descent, relocates to Japan to study karate under Masahiko's father, a master. She previously knew Masahiko from childhood. Her arrival sparks friction within the household, particularly with Kyoko Saeki, a family friend who managed domestic duties before Fong Lee took them over. Kyoko displays jealousy towards Fong Lee's presence and her involvement with Masahiko and his father.
Initially, Fong Lee views Masahiko negatively upon learning he lacks interest in karate, perceiving it as weakness. Her opinion shifts dramatically after he saves her from a gang of rapists. This act fosters a friendship between them, and Masahiko begins karate training, partly fueled by the belief Fong Lee might be the woman who aided him in a cherished childhood memory.
Despite their growing closeness, Fong Lee abruptly decides to return to America. Masahiko confronts her at the airport. She explains she must leave to eventually compete against him, making shared training in the same dojo impractical. She clarifies she is not the woman from his memory but openly admits her feelings for him.
Her departure prompts Masahiko’s continued search for his childhood savior and resolves the temporary romantic tension. Fong Lee's presence challenges Masahiko’s resolve regarding his vow of virginity and advances his journey toward identifying his true past savior.
