Description
Masashishi Iizuka is the father of Tsukiko and Tomie in the 2011 film Tomie: Unlimited. He is generally a distant and uncommunicative man who occasionally berates his wife, Kimiko. When the resurrected Tomie returns to the family home on her eighteenth birthday, Iizuka quickly becomes one of the tools of her manipulation, obeying her command to whip Tsukiko across the back with a steam iron cable as punishment for not showing affection. Soon after, he stabs Tomie to death with a butcher knife when she attempts to leave, an act that triggers the escalating horror of Tomie’s regenerative copies. Later, Tomie’s severed head convinces him to kill Kimiko and feed her body to the growing Tomie mass, and he participates in a plan to offer Tsukiko as a sacrifice to the Tomie creatures. By the film’s conclusion, his behavior becomes increasingly bizarre—such as eating hair from the trash—as he is fully drawn into the madness Tomie spreads. Iizuka has no supernatural abilities; his role is that of a passive, easily controlled father whose repressed resentment and desperate love for his undead daughter drive him to commit terrible acts, ultimately contributing to the collapse of his family and the spread of Tomie’s influence.
