TV Special
Description
Bomber is a bomb and explosives specialist within the Tarantula assassins organization, featured in *Lupin III: Island of Assassins*. Despite his considerable size, he possesses surprising speed and agility, enabling him to deploy explosive mines with near-instantaneous precision.
A poisoned tattoo, administered by Tarantula's leader Gordeau, binds Bomber to the organization. This tattoo demands constant exposure to the island's specific volcanic gases to counteract its deadly poison, effectively imprisoning him and his fellow assassins on the island. Leaving for too long activates the poison, resulting in death.
Like other Tarantula assassins, Bomber harbors deep guilt and reluctance about his violent profession. Disillusioned with the assassin's life, he yearns for freedom. This internal conflict motivates him to join Doc's rebellion, which offers the hope of an antidote to the tattoo's poison and liberation from Tarantula.
During the rebellion, Bomber aids in the plot to steal Tarantula's gold and disable the satellite defense system. The escape ship, however, is destroyed by the satellite following betrayals by Doc and Gordeau. In the subsequent confrontation, Gordeau inflicts fatal wounds on Bomber. With his final act, Bomber attempts a sacrificial detonation of an explosive vest to kill Gordeau, though the effort proves unsuccessful.
Bomber's story concludes with his death during the failed rebellion, highlighting the tragic cycle of coercion and resistance within Tarantula.
