Movie
Description
Kō Taiki is the civilian identity of Sailor Star Maker, one of the three members of the idol group the Three Lights and a member of the Sailor Starlights. Taiki originates from the planet Kinmoku, which was destroyed by Sailor Galaxia. Along with Kō Seiya and Kō Yaten, Taiki traveled to Earth in search of their lost princess, Kakyuu. While on Earth, Taiki disguises as a male pop star to hide the true identity but remains physically female, reverting to a female form when transforming into a Sailor Guardian.

Taiki is the most intellectual and cool-headed member of the trio. Highly intelligent, Taiki enjoys poetry and is a member of the school Literature Club. Within the Three Lights, Taiki handles background vocals, keyboards, and composition. Taiki is also a guitarist and has a demeanor that reflects a focused, artistic sensibility. Initially, Taiki considers romantic notions foolish, a viewpoint that begins to shift after interactions with Ami Mizuno, whose belief in dreaming starts to influence Taiki. Taiki is initially wary of Usagi Tsukino after learning she is Sailor Moon, believing Seiya should stay away from her. Over time, however, Taiki's views on Usagi improve, and Taiki becomes more open to cooperation.

Taiki's primary motivation is the protection of and reunion with Princess Kakyuu. The mission to find and safeguard the princess drives all of Taiki's actions on Earth. In combat, Taiki is pragmatic but not ruthless. In one instance, Taiki is the first of the Starlights to allow Sailor Moon to heal a phage instead of destroying it, showing a willingness to spare life when possible. Taiki also finds renewed hope when a sick girl named Misa shows a drawing of Princess Kakyuu that she sees when listening to the Three Lights' music.

In the story of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos the Movie, Taiki and the other Starlights ally with Usagi and the Sailor Guardians to confront Sailor Galaxia and the Shadow Galactica. Taiki functions as a key ally but remains somewhat distant, viewing the Earth conflict as separate from the primary mission to find and protect Kakyuu. The Starlights and Kakyuu travel with Usagi to the Galaxy Cauldron, where they are killed by Sailor Galaxia's henchwomen Sailor Chi and Sailor Phi. Taiki's role ends with this sacrifice, though the ultimate resolution of the battle involves Sailor Moon confronting Galaxia at the Cauldron.

Key relationships include the bond with fellow Starlights Seiya and Yaten, with whom Taiki shares a deep camaraderie and shared purpose, though Taiki often acts as the voice of reason when Seiya becomes impulsive. The relationship with Princess Kakyuu is one of devoted loyalty. The connection with Ami Mizuno is notable as a intellectual peer and a catalyst for Taiki's emotional development, as Ami's idealism begins to soften Taiki's pragmatic skepticism.

Taiki's notable ability as Sailor Star Maker is the attack Star Gentle Uterus, which is the only known offensive technique. The transformation command is Maker Star Power, Make Up. As Sailor Star Maker, Taiki wears a dark-colored enamel bodysuit with a Sailor collar, high-heeled boots, and color-coordinated accessories, consistent with the Sailor Starlights' uniform design in the Cosmos film. Taiki is described as having a personality that contrasts with the more arrogant Seiya and the blunt Yaten, serving as the calm, analytical core of the group.
