Description
Goat is not a separate character but rather the disguised persona of Rei Andō, the devoted butler to the influential idol Hibiki Shikyoin. He assumes this form out of necessity, as the world of PriPara is normally a realm exclusively for girls. The only way for him to breach this barrier and continue serving his master is to don a full-bodied male goat costume, which allows him to use a special mirror gate designated for such animal entrance.
Within the story, Goat serves as the covert agent for Hibiki. His primary function is to infiltrate PriPara and carry out his mistress's orders from the shadows, often engaging in espionage and sabotage. He is depicted as a very capable operative, once dressing in his goat costume to sneak into the control center of Meganii, the system's administrator, to manipulate the weather and stage a distraction. This act was meant to create a perfect starry sky for Falulu, showcasing his willingness to perform any task, no matter how elaborate, to bring happiness to those Hibiki cares about.
The personality of the man behind the mask is quiet, aloof, and defined by an unwavering, almost mechanical loyalty to Hibiki. He never questions her actions and follows her commands with absolute obedience. This dedication is so profound that he remains completely unaffected by outside influences, such as the persuasive "Max Beam" technique used by other characters. While in his goat disguise, he does not speak or interact extensively with the main cast as a peer, but remains a silent, observant, and purposeful figure in the background.
His most significant development occurs when his loyalty is put to the ultimate test. In a critical moment, he informs Laala Manaka and her friends about Hibiki's true wish to become a "vocal doll," a decision made out of care for his master's well-being. This act of defiance leads to him being fired by Hibiki. However, this is not an ending for the character; he is later appointed to an Assistant Manager position by the character Unicorn, which grants him a new name and a legitimate place in the idol world, elevating him from a secretive infiltrator to an official role. His disguise also undergoes a physical change to reflect this new status, as his goat costume later gains a set of wings, visually aligning him with the managers of the main idols.
Beyond his function as a spy, Goat has a subtle but noted relationship with the animals within the PriPara universe. One of Fuwari Midorikaze's personal goats develops a particular fondness for him while he is in costume. This minor interaction adds a touch of irony to his presence, as the goats native to PriPara seem to accept him as one of their own. A significant part of his ongoing role is defined by this very costume; his GoatTicket identifies him as a Natural type, a classification likely determined by his chosen disguise. His persona is therefore an interesting case of identity formed entirely by service and circumstance, a loyal butler who found a place in a world where he was never meant to belong, all through the simple yet effective disguise of a goat.
