ONA
Description
Haruo Kōno, originally named Haru, hails from a remote village in the Himalayas where he was a member of the Gurkha people. Discovered as a once-in-a-century prodigy and a formidable hunter, he was recruited to leave his homeland and enter the world of underground corporate fighting, representing the gaming company Nentendo. His transition to modern urban life, however, led to a dramatic transformation as he quickly became enamored with fast food and video games, resulting in significant weight gain.

Personality wise, Haruo is defined by his laziness and short temper. He has little interest in anything beyond eating sweets and playing video games, and he is easily frustrated by challenges, often throwing tantrums whether he loses in a video game or faces difficulty in a fight. His initial motivation for leaving his village was to find a worthy challenge and to earn money for his tribe, but these goals became obscured by the comforts and pleasures of city life. Known by the epithets "The Destroyer" and "Avatar of Indra," he relies on his immense natural strength and size in combat, a style that more skilled fighters have noted relies on throwing his weight around rather than demonstrating refined technique.

In the story, Haruo is an affiliated fighter for Nentendo during the Kengan Annihilation Tournament. A key relationship is with his employer, Nentendo, which both enabled his descent into complacency by providing him with consoles and games and ultimately regrets introducing him to these modern vices. Another pivotal relationship is with his tribe, who were invited to watch him fight in the tournament only to be disappointed by the physical state of their once legendary warrior. A notable fight was against Akoya Seishu, during which Haruo sustained severe damage, including a lasting injury to his left knee that became a serious weak point.

Haruo demonstrates a notable capacity for change and acknowledges his own failings. Following his disappointing performance and the reaction of his tribe, he began to take fighting more seriously, joining a gym to learn professional wrestling, though his weight and love for city food remained. His most notable ability is an extreme metabolic rate, which he can activate during combat. This allows him to rapidly purge "toxins" from his body, causing him to lose weight at an astonishing speed. As this happens, his physical speed and strength increase dramatically, allowing him to overwhelm opponents with a sudden, powerful barrage of strikes. Another named technique is the "Bear Killer," a vicious overhand punch.
