Description
Chie Sasaki is an eleven-year-old idol belonging to the Third Entertainment Division, a group of young talents all under 149 centimeters in height, in The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls U149. She has a height of 139 centimeters. Her birthday is on June 7th, making her a Gemini, and her blood type is listed as AB in some profiles. She is left-handed and her primary hobby is sewing. Her image color is a distinct shade of blue.

Personality-wise, Chie is characterized by her gentle, kind, and docile nature. She is notably shy, timid, and introverted, often lacking confidence in her own abilities. This reserved exterior belies a deeply caring and observant individual; she is highly attentive to the needs of those around her and always looks out for her fellow idols in the Third Entertainment Division. She is someone who prefers to work in a steady, step-by-step manner and has a homely, considerate side that expresses itself through acts of service.

Initially, Chie is scared of unfamiliar adults and was terrified of her producer at first. However, as she grows to trust him, she becomes more level-headed and mature. She finds a sense of safety in the producer because his gaze is close to her own level, which makes him less intimidating than other adults. This trust culminates in her developing a crush on him by the time she receives her first idol form.

Her primary motivation is to support her friends and not be a burden to them. She fears being left behind by her more confident and skilled peers. This internal conflict becomes the central focus of her character arc in the anime. When the Third Entertainment Division is tasked with the opening performance for a joint live show, the producer, recognizing her steady and caring nature, appoints her as the leader. Chie initially vows to work hard, but the pressure of the role exacerbates her lack of confidence. She becomes overly conscious of her responsibilities, worrying that any mistake would make her a failure as a leader, and she hesitates to ask others for help for fear of interfering with their practice. Her anxiety reaches a point where she is secretly practicing alone, on the verge of tears, believing she is disqualified from being a leader. The producer reassures her that his decision to choose her included all her worries, and her fellow idols admit they were sorry for not noticing her struggle earlier, with Koharu telling her she can rely on them more. This support allows Chie to overcome her anxiety, regain her confidence, and successfully lead her unit as the bright and reliable leader they always knew she could be.

Chie plays a crucial role in the story as the anchor of the Third Entertainment Division. While other members may be more flamboyant or assertive, Chie is the one who quietly ensures everything runs smoothly. She is often seen doing small but significant tasks, like giving Arisu water, checking Kaoru's shoelaces, or doing homework for her younger siblings at the office. Her hobby of sewing is a notable ability; she uses these skills to make clothes for Nina's dolls and create patchwork for her fellow idols. In a demonstration of her growth, she later becomes a person Koharu states she can rely on the most during difficult times. Her key relationships are with the other members of the Third Entertainment Division, who she supports and is supported by, and with the producer, whose calm and understanding demeanor helps her find her own voice.
