OVA
Description
Daisuke Asou, a second-year scholarship student at the prestigious Nadeshiko Academy, possesses significant talent in watercolor painting, evidenced by multiple competition wins. However, he suffers a severe creative block, losing passion for art due to his belief that the school exploits his talent for publicity over genuine artistic development. This withdrawal jeopardizes his scholarship, with the principal warning that failure in an upcoming competition will result in its revocation.
Living near his supportive childhood friend, Amane Tachibana, Daisuke is persuaded by her to paint a portrait of Yurina Kimikage, a girl preparing for serious heart surgery. This act becomes a turning point, gradually reconnecting him with his artistic motivation. His interactions extend to other heroines: Ren Sakurazuka, who becomes his stepsister after their parents plan to marry; Yuzu Nanashiro, a childhood friend he inspired to pursue athletics; and Yuu Shinomiya, a former neighbor, his first crush, who returns as an academy teacher.
Romantic developments with these characters directly influence his artistic recovery. His relationship with Amane evolves particularly deeply, leading to mutual recognition of their feelings during his rediscovery of art. His journey culminates in regaining his passion for painting and successfully resolving his scholarship crisis through competition participation.
Later OVA adaptations condense this narrative arc but retain the core elements of his artistic block, the pivotal portrait of Yurina, and his romantic realization with Amane. Expanded game editions introduce an additional character, Aya Misaki—an underclassman inspired by his artwork—whose interactions further contribute to his emotional and artistic revival.
