Description
Galletoni, also written Gallettoni, is the father of the protagonist in the animated series Calimero that premiered in 2014, a computer-animated installment of the long-running franchise. He is an anthropomorphic white rooster with an orange beak and a red comb on his head. In this series he is usually seen in a light blue shirt, a red bow tie, and blue overalls, an outfit suited to his working identity as a carpenter. This design updates his earlier appearance from the original shorts, where he wore a blue shirt, a black jacket and bow tie, and yellow pants.

He is married to Cesira, a white hen and Calimero's mother, and together the three form the family at the center of the title character's home life. Earlier versions of the franchise also included a brother for him named Giobatta, along with a niece and a nephew, but those relatives were later removed from the established canon, leaving Galletoni, Cesira, and Calimero as the core family unit.

Within the 2014 series, Galletoni plays a supporting role. The main storylines follow Calimero and his friends in the town of Belladagio, where they uncover the inventions of an ancestor in an old mill, and Galletoni appears primarily in domestic and family situations rather than as the engine of any plot. His motivation is familial rather than personal; the series does not give him an independent ambition, and his actions center on his household. His relationship with Calimero is that of father and son, while his relationship with Cesira is that of a married couple sharing the care of their child.

Galletoni does not undergo a significant transformation over the course of the series, remaining a consistent parental presence. His notable ability is his carpentry, reflected both in his clothing and in his role as a working parent. His main function in the story is to anchor the protagonist's family environment and to provide a stable home from which Calimero's adventures begin.
