TV-Series
Description
Kei Kuruizawa is a student of Class D at the Advanced Nurturing High School, identifiable by her student ID number S01T004718. She is a teenage girl of average height, which is recorded as 154 centimeters. She has waist-length blonde hair that she typically wears in a ponytail and distinctive purple eyes. Kei takes great pride in her appearance, adhering to a fashionable and modish style that aligns with a lively gyaru aesthetic. She is known for being a prominent, almost central, figure within her class's social hierarchy.

Outwardly, Kei projects the persona of a self-assured, strong-willed, and somewhat spoiled young woman. She is often perceived as arrogant, careless, and willing to use flirtatious behavior to get what she wants. This dominant and sometimes abrasive exterior, however, is a carefully constructed mask that belies her true nature. Underneath the surface, Kei is a deeply vulnerable and sensitive individual, tormented by the ghosts of a traumatic past. She is, in her own words, a parasite, a weak creature who believes she cannot survive on her own and must attach herself to a stronger person for protection. Despite her fear and insecurity, she possesses a sharp, logical mind and a remarkable ability to read the atmosphere and the people around her. Her most profound strength, however, is her indomitable will and immense mental fortitude, which allows her to carry out her goals no matter the cost.

The foundation of Kei's character is a harrowing history of bullying during her middle school years. She was subjected to extreme physical and psychological abuse, including beatings, public humiliations, and other degradations that left her with deep emotional scars and a physical scar on the left side of her torso. To ensure she would never be a victim again upon entering high school, she devised a strategy for survival. She approached Yosuke Hirata, a popular and kind-hearted boy who naturally became the class coordinator, and proposed a fake relationship. By becoming Hirata's public girlfriend, she instantly gained a high social status and a powerful shield against potential bullies. This arrangement was purely transactional; it provided her with the security she craved, allowing her to adopt the persona of a queen bee and keep her traumatic past hidden.

Her role in the story evolves significantly from a background social leader to a key operative and eventual romantic partner for the protagonist, Kiyotaka Ayanokōji. Initially, Kei barely acknowledges the quiet and unassuming Ayanokōji, considering him an invisible presence. However, his keen observational skills allow him to see through her mask. Recognizing her hidden trauma but also her latent strength and central position among the girls, he maneuvers to make her his pawn. He orchestrates a situation where she is cornered and physically bullied by students from Class C, led by Shiho Manabe, on a ship's deck. Ayanokōji then intervenes, not as a simple hero, but by revealing that he knows all her secrets and essentially blackmailing her into becoming his partner. He promises to protect her more reliably than Hirata ever could, and in return, she must follow his orders. This dark pact marks the beginning of their relationship.

Kei's key relationship with Hirata is one of mutual convenience; he agrees to the fake relationship to help protect her, and she relies on his status. In contrast, her relationship with Ayanokōji is complex and multifaceted. It begins as a master-servant dynamic, with Kei as a tool for his plans to elevate Class D. However, her feelings for him deepen into genuine affection and trust, particularly after a pivotal confrontation on the school rooftop with the class's antagonist, Kakeru Ryūen. During this event, Ryūen attempts to force Kei to reveal the mastermind behind Class D, subjecting her to severe psychological torment and physical abuse. Despite being betrayed and realizing Ayanokōji had used her as bait, she refuses to break. Her incredible mental resilience not only saves the plan but also earns Ayanokōji's profound respect and admiration. He admits he underestimated the strength of her heart, and this event is a turning point that solidifies their bond. Eventually, she ends her fake relationship with Hirata and begins a genuine, romantic relationship with Ayanokōji.

In terms of notable abilities, Kei is not an academic or physical standout. Her official school evaluations place her abilities as below average in academics, intelligence, and physical fitness, and very low in cooperation. Her true talents lie in her social intelligence and psychological strength. She has an innate centripetal force that allows her to control the social dynamics of a group and gather information effectively. Ayanokōji himself praises her quick thinking and her ability to improvise and carry out complex instructions without needing lengthy explanations. She learns to communicate with him through simple glances and becomes his most trusted and irreplaceable partner, capable of acting as his proxy. Her journey is one of growth from a frightened girl hiding behind a fabricated personality to a more confident individual who, while still dependent on her partner, has shown the capacity for loyalty, bravery, and genuine love, sacrificing her own well-being to protect the person she cares for.
